On Friday November 26th I attended the Welcome to the Jungle tournament at Gilbert HS in Gilbert, AZ.

Here were the results of the four games I viewed:

7th place game:

Desert Ridge 50

Chandler 37

5th place game:

Pinnacle 55

Mesa Mountain View 50

3rd place game:

Valley Vista 60

Corona del Sol 52

1st place game:

Gilbert 51

Perry 45

Here were some of the seniors that stood out:

[player_tooltip player_id="701228" first="Dylan" last="Anderson"] Perry

A highly skilled center has the rare ability to hit 3’s with consistency. He is a high level rebounder and will go back up and score on hook shots. He is a good passer out of the double team and he is blocking shots in his area better. He outlets the ball well and can finish in the lane with either hand. The Arizona commit will get a lot of attention from opposing teams this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="827033" first="Nikko" last="Pentelute"] Gilbert

One of the craftiest scores in the AIA. He uses his body well and he can pull-up from mid-range. He is a very good rebounding guard and he can step back on his defender and will finish with his left or right hand.

[player_tooltip player_id="706698" first="Reed" last="Shuey"] Gilbert

A star D1 volleyball player held his own about as well as you could versus [player_tooltip player_id="701228" first="Dylan" last="Anderson"]. He scores on hook shots and he is a strong two handed rebounder using his girth and strength. He gives them a defensive post player to have the rest of the players go to their natural positions.

[player_tooltip player_id="1121053" first="Dwayne" last="Porter"] Valley Vista

A super athletic wing forward is a star on the break to throw it down. He grabs out of area rebounds giving the team extra possessions. He gets downhill well with speed and defends multiple positions with his quick twitch athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id="1032376" first="Eydurus" last="Muse"] Chandler

A thick scoring lead can pull-up from mid-range. He uses his strength and toughness to get into the lane and take a bump and score it. He will defend on the ball with his quick feet and strong hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="973815" first="Kyle" last="Waters"] Perry

A strong wing will be a nice compliment all year to their “big-3.” He can spot up and shoot the 3 and run the break and score in transition. He can rebound in his area and bring some veteran leadership to the Pumas.

Connor Cook CG 6’1 Mesa Mountain View

A lefty shooter off the catch and pull from mid to the 3pt line. He works well off of [player_tooltip player_id="1150195" first="Brigg" last="Wolfe"] and he has good quickness and plays from the neck up.
