The 2021-22 Wisconsin high school basketball season has gotten off to an exciting start. Read to see which prospects started their season on the right foot:

[player_tooltip player_id="801136" first="Maximus" last="Nelson"] -- 2022 -- PF -- Appleton North

Nelson is poised for a huge senior season, as he absolutely dominated in Appleton North’s first two games of the year. The 2022 power forward kicked off the season with a 25-point performance in a victory over Shawno. He then followed that up by dropping 34 points in a winning effort against Bay Port. Nelson is a tremendous shooter that can catch fire quickly from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="1142131" first="Jack" last="Daugherty"] -- 2024 -- PF -- Brookfield Central

Brookfield Central doesn’t rebuild. They simply reload. After losing a lot of production from last season, the Lancers have found another star in Daugherty. The 6-foot-7 forward tallied 30 points in an 86-68 win over Racine Case. He shot an efficient 12-18 from the field, including two made threes. Currently ranked inside the top ten in Wisconsin’s 2024 class, look for Daugherty to have a huge sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id="761417" first="Danilo" last="Jovanovich"] -- 2022 -- F -- Whitnall

In two games, Jovanovich produced big-time numbers. He dropped 28 points in a blowout win over Denmark and put up 29 points in a close loss to Menomonee Falls. The Miami commit is an effective slasher that has become a matchup nightmare. Jovanovich’s first two games were not an aberration. Expect the forward to continue to record impressive stats

[player_tooltip player_id="801139" first="Christopher" last="Morgan"] -- 2022 -- PG -- Kaukauna

I have a feeling that Morgan is going to wake a lot of people up this season. The senior point guard has always been good, but now he is playing on another level. In Kaukauna’s first game, the Purdue Fort Wayne commit scored 28 points on 8-16 shooting from the field in a blowout win over Grafton. Look for Morgan to significantly raise his stock this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id="1089725" first="Jordan" last="Glenn"] -- 2022 -- G -- Wisconsin Lutheran

After experiencing a truly life-changing event last season, Glenn returned to action and looked great. The senior point guard led his squad with 20 points in a big win over a solid Fon Du Lac team. Glenn is a tremendous shooter from the mid-range and from behind the arc. He is also a really good defender that has no problem locking down the opposing team’s best player.

[player_tooltip player_id="801135" first="Steven" last="Clay"] -- 2022 -- SF --- Menomonee Falls

[player_tooltip player_id="1129756" first="Seth" last="Trimble"] has earned the number one spot in Wisconsin’s 2022 rankings. But forgetting how good Clay is would be a major mistake. The senior small forward is an amazing isolation scorer that can get buckets from all three levels with ease. In a close contest against Whitnall, Clay paced his squad in scoring with 24 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="1145649" first="Cody" last="Schmitz"] -- 2024 -- G/F -- Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau

It is impossible to leave Schmitz off this list after the incredible performances that he had. Through two games the 2024 prospect is averaging 50 points per game! First, he dropped 61 points in a win over Sparta. He followed that up with an equally impressive 39-point performance in a win over C-FC. Schmitz’s greatness has been one of the biggest storylines early in the high school basketball season.

[player_tooltip player_id="981128" first="Mason" last="Prey"] -- 2023 -- G -- Newman Catholic

Through three games, Newman Catholic’s Prey is scoring 24.3 points per game on 52 percent shooting from the field. Prey is an impressive scorer that uses his strength and skill very effectively. He is also extremely well rounded, as the guard doesn’t have any significant weakness in his game. Prey is definitely going to be a prospect to keep an eye on going forward.
