Who are some of the new names you will see in the upcoming Prep Hoops prospect rankings for 2023s in Minnesota? We walk you through some of those players today!

[player_tooltip player_id="1343246" first="Joey" last="Flom"] of Eden Prairie (5’9 PG). Flom scored four times in the EP opener but it’s the way that he runs their stuff that has people impressed. He’s in the EP rotation and is a very tough guard that will defend hard and make sure the ball gets to all the shooters they have. In addition to knocking down shots himself.

[player_tooltip player_id="1326147" first="Mason" last="Hammer"] of Henning (6’4 Wing). Hammer is a wing that has really good ball handling skills for a bigger player at the Class A level. Mason can play just about every position for Henning if needed. He’s coming off of a 16 point, 6.5 rebound, 3 assist per game sophomore year and has even bigger expectations this season. Fairly agile bigger skilled player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1288688" first="Aiden" last="Johnson"] of Legacy Christian (6’5 Wing). We label Aiden as a wing here but this young man can play with his back to the bucket for facing to score. A very good touch but also a grinding worker who puts up huge rebounding numbers regularly. Type of guy that won’t be out-worked.

Waziri Lawal of Breck (6’3 Guard). I was really impressed with the Waziri potential this fall at the Breakdown fall league. I think Lawal can be labeled as a combo guard. Looks to have really good ball handling skills and I love the timing of his attack off a separation, ball screen, or quick reversal. Uses his body well to complete plays. Scored 12 a game a sophomore and has big expectations for this winter.

Isreal Moses of DeLaSalle (6’1 Guard). Moses is the type of athletic hard working player that the Islanders turn into a harassing defender. Moses is an explosive athlete which should allow him to defend guys in a way that pressures them in to a lack of comfort.

[player_tooltip player_id="1333343" first="Con" last="Osuji"] of Tartan (6’6 Big). This is a name that floated to us because the potential of Con could result in a really good player. Tartan has a couple bigs already so Con will have time to develop but there is some raw ability, raw potential that could turn into a really nice player the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id="1288685" first="Micah" last="Thompson"] of Perham (6’5 Wing). Thompson is labeled as a wing on here but he’s played a lot of lead guard for Perham. At 6’5 Thompson is comfortable handling the ball as a lead guard creator and/or as an attacking scorer. His dribble separation game has taken a big step forward. Good rebounder as well.
