The top ranked team in Class 1A, 2A, and 4A are all in attendance according to our Prep Hoops Indiana Class Rankings. Also, the top ranked prospect in the Class of 2023 and 2024 will be suiting up. There are also six of the top 14 Class of 2022 prospects taking part in the shootout as well. Here are 10 of the top prospects that we are looking forward to seeing at Saturday’s Sneakers For Santa Shootout.
Elhadj Diallo (Brownsburg H.S. 2023)
A 6’4″ forward, Diallo burst onto the scene this season with a career-high 26 points in Brownsburg’s season-opening loss to North Central. He followed it up with two strong performances at the NorthWood Thanksgiving Shootout as the Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins. Diallo is averaging just under 20 points per game so far this season. He is an interesting rising prospect that not many around the state are familiar with yet.
Ashton Williamson Ashton Williamson 6'2" | PG Gary 21st Century | 2023 State #287 Nation IN (Gary 21st Century 2023)
Williamson flirted with a triple-double in 21st Century’s win over Indianapolis Tindley last Saturday scoring a game-high 21 points to go with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The highly sought after prospect is one of the best, most explosive guards in the Class of 2023 and will have a chance to showcase his talent on a statewide stage against Loyola (IL) signee Jalen Quinn from Tuscola High School in Illinois. This will be a fun matchup to watch.
Jordan Woods Jordan Woods 6'2" | PG Hammond Central | 2023 State IN (Hammond Central H.S. 2023)
A 6’3″ athletic guard, Woods will lead the way this year for the newly formed Hammond Central High School (consolidation of Hammond, Clark, and Gavit). Woods averaged 10.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 3.6 steals per game as a sophomore and will now be called upon to fill a much bigger scoring role with the graduation of his older brother, Harold.
Brauntae Johnson Brauntae Johnson 6'2" | PG Fort Wayne North Side | 2024 IN (Fort Wayne North Side H.S. 2024)
One of the most exciting, explosive athletes in the state of Indiana right now. Johnson is the top football and basketball prospect in the class of 2024 with Division I offers in both sports already. The 6’4″ guard had an outstanding freshman season for the Legends scoring 17.3 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists. While North Side is 0-2 this season with losses to Lawrence North and Blackhawk Christian, Johnson has had a strong start to the season. Will be fun watching him and Woods go at it.
Christian Nunn Christian Nunn 6'3" | SF L'anse Creuse North | 2022 State IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2022)
Nunn is a strong, athletic guard that is very hard to keep out of the paint. Coming off of a 32-point performance on Tuesday, Nunn at the Attucks Tigers are 2-0 with a game Friday night as well against Tennessee Prep at Danville High School. Nunn is a highly sought after Division II/Division II/NAIA recruit with offers at all levels. With a couple of top prospects transferring out of Attucks, the 6’4″ guard has taken on the primary scoring role this season.
Joey Hart Joey Hart 6'5" | SG Linton-Stockton | 2023 State #214 Nation IN (Linton-Stockton H.S. 2023)
Hart leads the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 2A #1 team into the Sneakers For Santa Shootout with a 2-0 record. The 6’4″ guard scored 30 points in their season-opener and followed it up with a win over the reigning 2A state runner-up Parke Heritage. The Miners play Friday night at Clay City as a final tune-up before their matchup with Crispus Attucks. Hart is one of the most sought after Class of 2023 prospects in the state.
Peter Suder Peter Suder 6'5" | SG Carmel | 2022 State #227 Nation IN (Carmel H.S. 2022)
After missing the summer circuit with an injury, Suder is back and ready for a big senior season with the Greyhounds. He is one of the most skilled guards in the state with the physicality to go along with it. Suder is the best available prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2022 at this point. Carmel has started off with a gauntlet of a schedule having lost to at Zionsville before taking down Cincinnati Elder in the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic.
Fletcher Loyer Fletcher Loyer 6'4" | SG Homestead | 2022 State #108 Nation IN (Homestead H.S. 2022)
A future Purdue Boilermaker, Loyer entered this season as the preseason favorite to win Mr. Basketball. The 6’4″ high-scoring guard is averaging 29.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game to begin this season. The Spartans are 1-1 with a loss to Alter (OH) High School in the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic where Loyer scored 28 points. They will take on Warsaw on the road Friday night before heading down to Brownsburg Saturday.
Myles Colvin Myles Colvin 6'5" | SG Heritage Christian | 2023 State #51 Nation IN (Heritage Christian 2023)
Colvin blew up over the summer and now the Purdue commit is a 4-star prospect per 247Sports. An explosive athlete with great length, Colvin can do a little bit of everything offensively. He is an excellent shooter with deep range, can create his own shot off the bounce, and is an above-the-rim finisher as he attacks the basket.
Xavier Booker Xavier Booker 6'11" | PF Cathedral | 2023 State #4 Nation IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023)
A 6’10″ center rated as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports, Booker is the #1 prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2023. The left-handed big man is averaging 17 points and 7.5 rebounds through two games with wins over Bowman Academy and St. Ignatius (OH). They will take on Brebeuf Jesuit Friday evening before their nightcap matchup at Sneakers For Santa against Brush (OH). Booker might be the most impactful defender in the state and will have a big test against the size of Brush.
