PH made the trek out to The First Annual Riley Christiansen Classic at Clayton Valley Charter School in Concord, CA. There were eight teams playing which represented different sections of NorCal. PH was there for day 2 of the event. Here are some of the standout players at this event.

Game 1: Cosumnes Oaks defeated Skyline of Oakland 59-51

Ja’len Flenory 5’8 PG 2024 of Cosmunes Oaks.

Flenory is one of the quickest guards we’ve seen in the early season. He’s got the quick twitch in the muscles and handles to get by defenders when he wants to. He’s a settled player that uses his energy the right way. He’s a willing passer with vision to find players in transition. He can play-off the ball as well.

Game 2: Freedom defeated Salinas 79-68

Daniel Vigil 5’10 PG 2023 of Freedom

Vigil had everything going for him in the first half. He had three 3-ptrs, a couple of nice mid-range jumpers and withstood all contact on his way to the basket in transition. He had 20 first-half points. Vigil kept up the hot hand scoring from along the baseline and in transition throughout the second half to finish the game with 32pts.

Game 3: Branson defeated Monte Vista 49-45

Semetri Carr 6’0 PG 2025 of Branson

There were a few standouts in this game, but none more impressive then the Freshman who virtually took over the game in the last 2 minutes with what he did to secure a victory. He took a charge, had a nice dribble pull-up for 3 at the top, good pressure defense to force a turnover. The lefty shows good poise, and confidence on the court. 14pts, 10 in the 4th quarter. He’s on the Wright’s Watch List.

Game 4: Clayton Valley Charter defeated Granite Bay 51-34

Jake King 6’5 G/F 2023 of Clayton Valley Charter

King was making his first start of the season. After this performance he might stay there for a while. The lefty got off to a fast start scoring around the basket early. He continued to produce throughout the game working the boards, running the court and knocking down his 3-ptrs from the corner. He finished with 21pts.
