North Georgia Showcase: Top Wings Pt. 1

2022 6-4 [player_tooltip player_id="1199594" first="Connor" last="McKay"] – Rabun County

Colleges will be kicking themselves after realizing the steal Lander got. [player_tooltip player_id="1199594" first="Connor" last="McKay"]’s freak motor, athleticism and skill were on full display on Black Friday, hanging 47 points, 21 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in a 71-63 loss to Starr’s Mill. McKay is constantly around the ball and sprints rim to rim in transition when the ball isn’t in his hands. The lefty can do everything imaginable on the floor. He went 17-17 from the foul line. He’s a front runner for Class 2A Player of the Year.

2022 6-4 Andrew Daniels – Duluth

Daniels is a solid glue guy that can lead a team in scoring but also rely on his floor game to positively influence the outcome. He had 9 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in a 76-66 loss. Daniels connected from the mid-range, scored on putbacks and was good in pick-and-roll situations.

2023 6-3 [player_tooltip player_id="1337715" first="David" last="Burnett"] – Buford

One of the biggest eye catchers for me was [player_tooltip player_id="1337715" first="David" last="Burnett"]. He’s got a strong build that stands out right away. He’s a talented athlete and has a silky-smooth release on his jumper. Burnett proved he could score off the catch from beyond the arc and also off the dribble with pull-ups. He caught a lob as well to showcase his athleticism. He tallied 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block.

2022 6-7 [player_tooltip player_id="810386" first="Jaylon" last="Taylor"] – Buford

After missing two games, [player_tooltip player_id="810386" first="Jaylon" last="Taylor"] returned to post 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. He has the length to guard nearly any position on the floor. Taylor had his jump shot working, scoring on turnarounds and pull-ups. Taylor is one of the highest ceiling wings Georgia has to offer. Continuing to add weight will help long-term.

2023 6-6 [player_tooltip player_id="948818" first="Lamariyon" last="Jordan"] – Dacula

Mari Jordan looks the part. His length and athleticism are hard to miss. He’s down to his Top 5 schools, multiple High Majors and Mid-Majors. Jordan had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks. He didn’t look for his offense much after hitting a pair of early threes. He has all the measurables to become an elite slasher and defensive stopper.
