Naperville Central hosted Naperville North in a battle of crosstown rivals on Friday night. It was a low scoring contest for much of the night with Naperville Central getting the 50-32 win. Here are the prospects who caught our attention in Naperville Central vs Naperville North: Standout Performers!

The stat line might not wow you, but the Naperville Central senior guard completely controlled this game. This 6’2” point guard plays taller than his height with his long arms. Saw his stock rise in July on the Prep Hoops Circuit and it has continued into his senior campaign. Excellent passer that has a feel both in the half court and transition for making others better. Zip on his passes when needed and puts his teammates in positions to succeed. Offensively he is a sound shooter hitting a three off the catch, stepped into one at the top of the key, and drained another mid-range jumper. Defensively his quick hands and athleticism shined getting several steals and blocking a couple shots. Really believe he has become a legit D2 point guard. We had him for 8 points and 8 dimes.

Zilys was the recipient of several of those assists. Good size at the two guard spot at about 6’4”. The lefty can really shoot the basketball with a crisp mid-range shot along with a quick release off the catch. Mixed in a crafty take to the rim and showed a lot of grit throughout the game. Not super athletic but the skill and toughness project well toward the next level. He had 15 points.

Williams is headed to NIU for football, but the senior was effective scoring in the paint in this game. Plays in the paint often using his quickness and shot making from 10 feet and in. Made jumpers and had several tough conversions for 13 points.

The younger brother has become the clear leader of this team. You can tell it is his squad. He had a wrap on his left arm so not quite sure what the injury was. His jumper didn’t have a ton of arc on it throughout the game although he did hit one. The athleticism and length plays well at the point breaking guys down off the bounce and making plays in the lane. Finished with 9 points. Very bright future!

Silky smooth point guard that has a super high IQ. Plays a complimentary role on this squad. Showed flashes through with a pull up, steal that he pushed the other way for points, and just his overall speed in the open floor. Went for 6 points.
