Led by a great performance from Nino Carter, the De La Salle Pilots destroyed the Pershing Doughboys 77-49. Right out of the gate, De La Salle was the dominant team that pushed the pace early while Pershing got flustered and missed important shots. Now, let’s take a look at the notable performances

Nino Carter

The MVP for today’s Roundball Classic, Carter was unstoppable. He had a pair of early 3’s with plenty of assists and playmaking to go along with that. Truly a great performance that should give him confidence heading into league play.

Pheonix Glassnor

Glassnor quietly had a great game coming off the bench. Pheonix is tall and lengthy and guess what - Pheonix is only a freshman. With plenty of playing time now, with a ton of offseason work, Pheonix is looking at an insanely bright basketball future.

[player_tooltip player_id="983510" first="Tamario" last="Adley"]

Adley got it done tonight with a great point total and plenty of rebounds. He’s a big body that can do a little bit of everything, but was mostly great in the paint.

Pershing #2

The venue did not offer rosters, and I cannot find any online information, so my apologies. Going into this game the obvious name to watch for the Doughboys was Hill, but #2 got in done from deep and went to the line twice hitting 2/4 FT’s. He really held the team up at some points and was crucial in a second-half run they went on.

[player_tooltip player_id="1067862" first="Jeremiah" last="Henderson"]

Henderson was another guy that was lethal from deep, hitting 2 three-pointers while scoring a few layups. The defensive pressure for Henderson was also there.

[player_tooltip player_id="863929" first="Tharren" last="Hill"]

Surely the most athletic on the court for the Doughboys, Hill did a good job slashing and getting to the line, but wasn’t able to get going early. It was obvious that it was a bit of an off night for him, but again, you could tell he has some talent.
