Paul Anderson – guard – South County ’23
Anderson is a very intriguing prospect. He is long, lanky, and capable of palming the ball. Defensively, Anderson has the potential to be elite. He is an excellent shot-blocking guard who is fast enough to chase you down. Anderson is also an active and alert help defender. On the offensive end, he is adept at slashing to the hole where he is a crafty finisher who doesn’t mind contact. Anderson can be very effective as a scorer in transition.
Ruben Garces – guard – Edison ’23
Garces is a solid point guard prospect. He is sturdily built and strong with the ball. Garces keeps his dribble alive and doesn’t get sped up. Garces is a crafty, reliable finisher in transition. This is in part because he demonstrates good balance and seeks contact. Garces leads by example. He will feed the post and dive on the floor for 50/50’s. Garces is also robust at the point of attack defensively.
Kenyani Lee – guard -South County ’22
Lee is the ultimate competitor. He is a threat to score from all three levels but is best when he is coming at his opponent with a full head of steam. Lee thrives in the mid-range areas. He has an elite floater package. Lee is strong with the ball and aggressively hunts paint touches. He frequently gets others open looks as a result.
Jamal Miles – wing – South County ’24
Miles is a rangy, versatile wing who plays with a good motor and is explosive in transition. Miles reverses the ball without hesitation and rebounds out of his rea. He is a threat from three offensively and can protect the rim defensively.
Mike Montano – wing – Edison ’22
Montano has all the physical tools to be a high-level prospect. At around 6-foot-5 with long arms and broad shoulders, he has a frame that will fill out over time. Montano is left-handed, but he can finish and pass with either hand. He palms the ball easily and gets up on the rim. Montano uses jab steps to create space and has the length to finish over the top of most defenders. He is best in transition where his court vision is evident. He has the potential to be a good defender. Montano is good for multiple deflections a game.
Markus Rouse – guard – Hayfield ’22
Hayfield is off to a perfect start and Rouse has been a key member of their rotation. He is one of the better defenders we’ve seen so far this season. Rouse is strong at the point of attack. He will rip the ball away from you if you’re not careful. Rouse uses his long arms to constantly harass opposing ball handlers. He is also a good help defender who understands where the man and ball are at all times.
Anthony Saunders – guard – Edison ’25
Saunders is a promising 6-foot-2 guard prospect to keep an eye on at Edison. He has some breakdown ability off the dribble and goes to his mid-range pull-up. Saunders is a smart cutter off the ball. He is an adept paint getter who can drive and kick to open teammates. Saunders is versatile defensively. He will pick your pocket or meet you at the rim.
