Early look at the Catholic Central Standings

<p>The Catholic Central league is perhaps the most stacked basketball league in the entire state. With a combined 90% win percentage across the entire league, we just know that league play is going to be incredible. So, let’s take a quick look at those standings as we head into the holiday.</p> <p>5-0 Brother Rice</p> <p>5-0 De La Salle</p> <p>3-0 St. Mary’s</p> <p>3-1 Catholic Central</p> <p>3-1 U-D Jesuit </p> <p><strong>Brother Rice </strong></p> <p>The Warriors have been sensational against amazing talent this season. Their 18-point thrashing of Grand Blanc really signifies the dominance this team has over the competition. So far <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13809569">Johnathan Blackwell</a> and <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/13133992">[player_tooltip player_id="986563" first="Henry" last="Garrity"]</a> have been incredible leading this team to some closer victories. </p> <p><strong>De La Salle</strong></p> <div class="team-athlete-view-follow-count" style="text-align: left;">I watched <a class="uni-link--implied" href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/4831906">[player_tooltip player_id="986245" first="Triston" last="Nichols"]</a> light it up during the DII Football State championships, and how he’s seamlessly transitioned to being</div> <div> </div> <div class="team-athlete-view-follow-count" style="text-align: left;">a force on the hardwood. De La Salle hasn’t just beat teams, they’ve blown them out. They also haven’t just played good</div> <div> </div> <div class="team-athlete-view-follow-count" style="text-align: left;">teams, they’ve played great teams such as Ferndale and Canton. </div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>St. Mary’s</strong></div> <div> </div> <div>Let’s be real, St. Mary’s is only #3 because they’ve played less games. With the #1 player in the state [player_tooltip player_id="787651" first="JaVaughn" last="Hannah"] and</div> <div> </div> <div>the #3 player [player_tooltip player_id="1181896" first="Kareem" last="Rozier"], St. Mary’s isn’t going to be an underdog in any game. Their biggest tests just may be the ultra-</div> <div> </div> <div>competitive league games, and I am really looking forward to following how they play out.</div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>Catholic Central</strong></div> <div> </div> <div>Catholic Central is always going to be a good team in Basketball and in football. Standing at 3-1 with a loss against Detroit</div> <div> </div> <div>King, they have to be satisfied with where they are at. Most recently, they punched Rockford in the mouth in a 76-48 blowout,</div> <div> </div> <div>and Rockford is no joke of a team. Of course we’ll see Catholic Central’s true colors against league competition soon.</div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>U-D Jesuit</strong></div> <div> </div> <div>Jesuit has had some good games against good competition, notably defeating Detroit King by 9 points, and losing </div> <div> </div> <div>a heartbreaker to Ferndale 57-55. The talent is there, notably with [player_tooltip player_id="863949" first="Charles" last="Turner"], and we’ll see if they can bring it all together to</div> <div> </div> <div>fight for a league championship. The early season test against Catholic Central on December 27th will be one to watch for</div> <div> </div> <div>sure! </div> <div> </div>
