[player_tooltip player_id="962491" first="Ashton" last="Hermann"] (Ballard, 2022) - 28.4 points a game

A lightning-quick guard who thrives on his ability to get to the bucket and finish at a high level, Hermann has been dominant this season for the Bombers, keeping them near the top of 3A again this year despite heavy personnel losses from last year's runner-up. We knew that he would have a big scoring year after all of the graduation losses, but he has even exceeded our expectations by averaging over 28 points a game so far. He's a capable perimeter shooter, but he's at his best when he's playing downhill and getting to the bucket, which he does as well as anyone in the state.

2.) [player_tooltip player_id="1158413" first="Shawn" last="Gilbert"] (Central DeWitt, 2022) - 22.0

An efficient 6-9 big man, Gilbert is averaging nearly a double-double with 9.8 rebounds to go with his efficient (55.4 FG%) scoring. He's capable of stepping out and stretching the defense, but he's at his best when he's throwing his weight around in the paint and using his sheer size, physicality, footwork, and touch to score in the paint.

3.) [player_tooltip player_id="1167688" first="Max" last="Wheaton"] (Fairfield, 2023) - 21.4

A 6-4 forward who does nearly all of his damage inside the paint, Wheaton is incredibly active on the offensive end, and his constant movement and physical play is tough for opponents to contain. He's averaging 4.0 offensive rebounds a game, which certainly helps contribute to his dominant scoring efforts.

4.) [player_tooltip player_id="682284" first="Karter" last="Petzenhauser"] (Spencer, 2022) - 21.1

A physical 6-2 power wing, Petzenhauser has been one of the best scorers in the state since he was a freshman. He's posting the most efficient season of his career with 59-44-75 shooting splits, and his improved jumper has really helped open things up for his Tigers teammates, giving them their most balanced attack since he has been in uniform, with three other players averaging between 9.6 and 11.9 points a game.

5.) [player_tooltip player_id="1158466" first="Caleb" last="Dreckman"] (LeMars, 2022) - 20.7

A 6-4 wing who is a better shooter than his percentages so far this season indicate, Dreckman could be in line for a huge second half of his senior season if he can get those numbers back up a bit. He has remained a dominant scorer in large part because of his improved ability to get to the rim and the free-throw line, averaging over six free-throw attempts a game.

6.) [player_tooltip player_id="962631" first="Kaleb" last="Booth"] (Carroll, 2022) - 20.6

Booth is armed with one of the best jumpers in the state off the dribble, and he uses that to score at a high clip for the Tigers from all three levels. He can stop on a dime and elevate into his jumper. He has a smooth stroke from the arc and has been fantastic as a playmaker for others this year as well, dishing out 5.7 assists a game.

7.) [player_tooltip player_id="1167722" first="Chase" last="Low"] (Charles City, 2023) - 20.0

An athletic 6-4 wing who uses his length effectively on the defensive end (2.9 steals a game), Low was extremely impressive at our Top 250 Expo in September and has carried that strong play into the high school season. He's shooting over 63% from the floor, using his length and athleticism to routinely get to the rim for finishes.

8.) [player_tooltip player_id="956888" first="Ethan" last="Patterson"] (Washington, 2023) - 19.8

Patterson has established himself as one of the best shooters in the state over his three high school seasons, and that has been on full display this year, shooting 45% from behind the arc in helping lead the Demons towards the top of the 3A rankings. A 5-11 off-ball guard, he moves extremely well without the ball in his hands and has a quick release and extended range. He has used his shooting ability to open up the rest of his game, attacking the rim more comfortably as a junior.

9.) [player_tooltip player_id="682294" first="Sam" last="Wilt"] (Anamosa, 2022) - 19.8

Wilt is a dominant two-way player who is averaging 3.0 steals and 3.3 blocks a game to go with his scoring, rebounding (11.2), and playmaking (4.3 assists). He leads the Blue Raiders in every major category. He uses his size and athleticism to control the game on both ends of the floor.

10.) [player_tooltip player_id="962602" first="Noah" last="Mack"] (Assumption, 2022) - 19.6

Mack has been posting some eye-popping efficiency numbers so far for the Knights with 53-46-90 shooting splits that have led to him being a dominant scoring threat. A 6-0 guard who has also really improved his ability to create for others, he's averaging a team-high 4.7 assists in addition to his scoring from all three levels.
