Prep Hoops Michigan has updated their class of 2022 prospect rankings. There were players that climbed the ladder significantly in the list. Let’s look at some of the top stock risers in the 2022 rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="787660" first="Ashton" last="Atwater"] (PG, Otsego)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #28

After the summer and fall that Atwater had, he had to move up. ALOT. He squared off against some of the best in the state, and I’ll tell you this - He never lost. Atwater went toe to toe every time.

[player_tooltip player_id="986745" first="Kaden" last="Johnson"] (F, Hartford)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #32

I’m not too sure why there isn’t more conversation about Johnson. He came to the Prep Hoops Top 250 and had a top 5 performance. Johnson followed that up by coming across the border to Indiana for the Hankamp Hoops Open Run and dominating there as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="863968" first="Thomas" last="Dillard IV"] (SF, Kalamazoo Central)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #50

When you spend the fall proving that you’re a top 2 way player in the state, you move up the rankings. Dillard IV can lock down on defense and cover multiple positions to boot.

[player_tooltip player_id="1211322" first="Julian" last="Scott"] (PG, Detroit Country Day)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: ##76

Scott is off to a great start this season and has proved he deserved a heavy jump in the rankings. He’s scoring and distributing at a high level. Scott has the strength, body control and a pretty hesitation move that make him tough to contain.

[player_tooltip player_id="1211129" first="Gabe" last="Newhof"] (PF, Tri-Unity Christian)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #122

Newhof has really fine tuned his game over the last year. Enough that he deserved a rise in the rankings. He rebounds well and is comfortable being that anchor in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="1128349" first="Patrick" last="Kombo"] (PG, Arbor Prep)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #123

Kombo is a fast twitch attack mode type player. He’s shown that he can blow by a defender and break down the defense. Kombo can play effectively at a fast pace.

[player_tooltip player_id="1211158" first="Hershel" last="Marion"] (SG, Hamtramck)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #158

Marion is showing why he’s a stock riser so far this high school season. He’s really developed as a timely bucket getter and everyone knows that in Hamtramck, you better be able to play D too.

[player_tooltip player_id="1067868" first="Kenoly" last="Jones"] (PG, Livonia Stevenson)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #198

Jones flashed a ton of potential starting in the spring during grassroots season. He has superior athleticism and speed. Jones is slick and a tough cover when he has the ball.
