On Sunday October 10th I attended Justin Vargas Underrated/Overhated Showcase at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ.

He had four teams of 8 players on each team for a smaller event.

Here were some of the standout forwards I viewed on the day:

[player_tooltip player_id="1009139" first="Erenzo" last="Scroggins"] McClintock (Pictured)

A downhill wing forward who uses his strong body to score it inside. At this camp, his passing is what actually stood out today. He drove the lane and assisted his teammates effortlessly and made some impressive passes throughout the day. He can hit the catch-3, block shots and his handle is tightening up.

[player_tooltip player_id="1180584" first="Pasha" last="Shemirani"] Salpointe Catholic

An inside out forward is versatile. He has a soft touch on his FT’s and can extend it to the 3pt line. He can also score it inside and through contact. He will block shots and rebound in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id="1066495" first="Aeramiah" last="Binford"] South Mountain

An athletic forward is an easy dunker on the break. He grabs out of area rebounds and will be a shot blocker all season long. He flies in the open court and is a stud in transition. He is also a capable perimeter shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id="998975" first="Tomi" last="Stevens"] Skyline Prep

An athletic wing with a very good motor. He rebounds the ball in and out of his area and plays hard. He has quick bounce to throw it down and he can make the catch-3 with some success. He does prefer to get into the lane to score.

[player_tooltip player_id="936907" first="Shane" last="Williams"] South Mountain

A long power forward who is a natural shot blocker and rim runner. He is starting to face-up to the 3pt line and he has a hook shot he utilizes inside. He had the block of the event that had everyone surprised.

[player_tooltip player_id="936906" first="Masaiah" last="Binford"] South Mountain

A long shot blocker who can score it inside with a few post moves. He is another that is an easy athlete and defends multiple positions showing his versatility.

[player_tooltip player_id="937201" first="Nael" last="Al-Masri"] Apollo

A strong wing forward is a physical player. He rebounds at a good rate and makes his opponents work for everything. He can hit the catch-3 and get hot quickly and rattle them off. He could be a pivotal player off the bench down the stretch for the Hawks.

Jesus Martinez SF 6’2 2023 Sunnyside

A tough forward who can shoot it and plays very hard with a big motor. He plays defense with high effort and he will rebound. He has 3pt range and can score around the cup.
