After posting the top overall performers, it’s time to get more specific with top performers from the Ohio Valley Hoops Classic. These 2022 prospects were the top performers among those not already mentioned.

[player_tooltip player_id="1195129" first="Louie" last="Semona"], 6’7 PF St Xavier 2022: Semona is the only returning starter for St Xavier and he has a lot more on his plate offensively. Despite receiving most of the defensive attention, Semona had some impressive moments on that end. His best play of the game came when he went behind his back before throwing down an exclamation point dunk to cap off the win over Olentangy Liberty. It’ll be interesting to see how Semona handles being the batman instead of Robin this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="921772" first="Kollin" last="Tolbert"], 6’2 CG Fairfield 2022: Tolbert transferred from Keba Prep to Fairfield and fit right in in their season opener. Fairfield has a trio of guards that really put pressure on your defense and Tolbert has the shot-making ability to thrive on and off ball. If Tolbert can continue this consistent play, he’ll receive lots of scholarship attention.

[player_tooltip player_id="921807" first="Jadon" last="Coles"], 6’3 SF Lakota East 2022: Coles is healthy again and played an awesome first game of the season. Coles is a knockdown shooter who had some impressive shots created by off-ball movement. Coles also looks more explosive as an athlete, clearly making some improvements in the weight room since the summer. Lakota East was very impressive as a team in this event, dominating a solid Massillon Jackson squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="967174" first="Layne" last="Sarver"], 6’6 SF Tri-Village 2022: Sarver was making shots from the outside and most importantly looked much more confident than I remember from the summer. With his size and athleticism, he was able to create offense for himself against Mason. It’ll be tough to find many better players or teams in Division IV than Sarver and Tri-Village.

[player_tooltip player_id="967166" first="Amani" last="Lyles"], 6’8 C Beechcroft 2022: Lyles was putting in work in the paint for Beechcroft, having a great game to open up his senior season. Lyles works well on the offensive glass and off dump off passes from his guards. Lyles should have a huge season in the Columbus City League.

[player_tooltip player_id="1082243" first="Jonathan" last="Effertz"], 6’0 PG Saint Ignatius 2022: Effertz had a nice scoring game in a tough loss against Indy Cathedral. Effertz got some steals off lazy passes and scored in transition a few times to give his team some life. Despite the tough loss and not making a lot of outside shots, Effertz found other ways to impact the game which is what you want to see from a senior.
