Who is next but Region 5-AAAAA in the Midlands. Let’s get into the action right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State.
Prep Hoops Predictions:
Dutch Fork HS – The Silver Foxes will rely on some experienced players to lead the way this season.
Lexington HS – The Wildcats will be right here in the thick of things with Cameron Scott Cameron Scott 6'6" | SG Lexington | 2024 State #23 Nation SC leading the way.
River Bluff HS – The Gators won the Class 5A State Championship last season over Dorman. The Gators lost several players to graduation. Who will be the leader of this new look team?
White Knoll HS – The Timberwolves will have some youth on its side to sneak out a few games here on given night.
Chapin HS – The Eagles will be under the leadership of Head Coach Marquett Carr
Houston Jones Houston Jones 6'4" | SG Dutch Fork | 2022 State SC (2022) – Dutch Fork HS – Prep Hoops Preseason Region Player of the Year
Jones helped the Silver Foxes make a deep run last season before falling in the playoffs. Houston is committed to play at Presbyterian College after his high school career is over. Jones is a quick shooting sniper on the perimeter for the Silver Foxes.
Octavious Smith Octavious Smith 6'5" | SF Dutch Fork | 2022 State SC (2022) – Dutch Fork HS
Smith a rangy forward can play inside-out on the floor. Octavious has a good motor and plays the game like a swiss army knife. Smith can do a bit of everything on the floor.
Jarvis Green Jarvis Green 5'11" | PG Dutch Fork | 2023 SC (2023) – Dutch Fork HS
Green is receiving plenty of football recruitment from the backfield. Last I saw Green has over 1,400 yards this season for the Silver Foxes who have 61 games in a row. Green is a pesky guard backcourt for Head Coach Bret Jones.
Cameron Scott Cameron Scott 6'6" | SG Lexington | 2024 State #23 Nation SC (2024) – Lexington HS (pictured on front)
Scott is the best player in the 2024 Palmetto State. Scott a highly touted player has several High Major offers from around the United States already. Cameron is extremely skilled to take over a game at any time while on the floor. Scott will bring the ball up the floor, finish at the rim, rebound on both ends of the floor but better yet take a charge on command it seems.
Morgan Washington Morgan Washington 6'2" | CG White Knoll | 2024 State SC (2024) – Lexington HS
Washington made the move over from Irmo HS from last season. Washington ran with the PCH Nightrydas SC on the Grassroots Circuit this past summer. Morgan is crafty with the ball in his hands and can finish at the rack with either hand.
Treyvon Maddox Treyvon Maddox 6'7" | SF Gray Collegiate | 2025 State #81 Nation SC (2025) – White Knoll HS
Maddox is the #1 player here in the 2025 Palmetto State (unofficial) since we don’t rank kids until after their freshmen season. Treyvon has great length and skill set to do about anything on the floor with the ball. Maddox will look to carry the Timberwolves as far he can this season.
Kaleb Evans Kaleb Evans 6'3" | CG Lexington | 2025 State #243 Nation SC (2025) – White Knoll HS
Evans will be a nice compliment player to Maddox. Evans and Maddox both just freshmen will see plenty of playing time this coming season.
Pascal Pitts Pascal Pitts 6'4" | PF River Bluff | 2025 State SC (2025) – River Bluff HS
How much action will Pitts see for the Gators this season? Head Coach Ben Lee did unreal job last season with this Gators program.
