With the season just days away who are some of the prospects we are excited to see? Here are a few in Prospects We Are Most Looking Forward to Evaluating!

[player_tooltip player_id="863631" first="NJ" last="Benson"] (Mt. Vernon – 2022)

Benson is a prospect that is coming on strong heading into his senior season and is primed to make a jump into the top 6 to 8 prospects in the class. Big and athletic five that is explosive around the hoop, rebounds, and plays with a high-motor. Committed o Missouri State.

[player_tooltip player_id="925178" first="Kyle" last="Thomas"] (Benet – 2022)

Thomas made the move from St. Joseph to Benet for his senior year after his old school closed. He will be one of the top unsigned prospects this season and will have all the motivation to reestablish his status among the best post prospects in his class.

[player_tooltip player_id="999560" first="Christian" last="Jones"] (East St. Louis – 2022)

The Mizzou commit had a quick rise creating buzz during the high school live periods in June and then didn’t see quite as big of a role with Brad Beal Elite in July. We are looking forward to seeing how he grows as an on-ball playmaker and the consistency in his shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id="771517" first="Jaylen" last="Drane"] (Simeon – 2022)

Drane was considered among the top prospects in this class when they came into high school. It has been up and down, but the flashes are still so intriguing as the slender built guard can get to the rim weaving in between traffic and provides toughness. Can he be the go-to guy for the Wolverines this year?

[player_tooltip player_id="863599" first="Emondrek" last="Ford"] (Bloom – 2022)

Ford is a young prospect for his grade which makes him intriguing to college coaches. Best as a rim runner and shot blocking presence. We look to see if he can expand his offensive game and production rate as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id="925192" first="AaReyon" last="Munir-Jones"] (Hillcrest – 2022)

Munir-Jones is in a new situation at Hillcrest. Well put together guard had D1 interest and is looking to show as a senior he is that guy as he will be one of the go to players on an always tough Hillcrest squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="1140351" first="Jonah" last="Hinton"] (Naperville Central – 2022)

Hinton shined this summer for M14 especially in July opening eyes of D2 coaches with his ability to play both on and off the ball. Smooth operator that has a nice looking shot and can create for others.

[player_tooltip player_id="989264" first="Ty" last="Pence"] (St. Joseph Ogden – 2023)

Pence is a prospect we will have eyes on early in the season at TOC in Washington. Only time we have seen him in person was at UIC Team Camp where we were impressed with his athleticism and ability to create his shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="989270" first="Richard" last="Barron"] (St. Ignatius – 2023)

Barron picked up steam with a strong June and July which has resulted in offers at the mid-major level. Now it is time to see if he can be the go to scorer on a team that is expected to compete for the Chicago Catholic League crown.

[player_tooltip player_id="939056" first="Bryce" last="Coleman"] (Niles Notre Dame – 2023)

Coleman has bounced around over the last few years and not quite lived up to the early promise we saw as a freshman at St. Joe’s. I think at Notre Dame he can show he is a D1 prospect with his positional size and versatility. Huge year from an eval standpoint for him.

[player_tooltip player_id="939035" first="Donaven" last="Younger"] (Bolingbrook – 2023)

Younger is another prospect that was highly ranked early in the process, but the production has never caught up to the physical tools. We will be monitoring him extremely close this year to see where his game is tracking because you can’t teach his size and athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id="939071" first="Jordan" last="Pickett"] (Belleville East – 2023)

Pickett is a scoring guard from Belleville East that could emerge as one of the premier metro east prospects with a strong junior campaign. Is a combo or more of a two? We will find out this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1215285" first="Matthew" last="Moore"] (Hillcrest – 2023)

Moore is oozing with potential. Bouncy four that rim runs, swats shots, and has the look of a big time prospect. Needs to finish better at the rim through contact to reach full potential.

[player_tooltip player_id="939065" first="Ethan" last="Kizer"] (Metamora – 2023)

Kizer will have our attention early in the season. Bouncy 6’6” forward with out of this world athleticism. We are closely watching how the skill development comes along this year as he is tracking as a D1 player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1279757" first="Justin" last="Page"] (Peoria Manual – 2023)

Page could be one of the emerging talents from central Illinois this season. Smooth scoring guard that showed with Team Rose in July he could get buckets from an array of levels.

[player_tooltip player_id="989274" first="Brock" last="Harding"] (Moline – 2023)

We were intrigued with the high school tape we saw from Harding last year and are looking forward to seeing where his game has come since last March.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295536" first="Hunter" last="Duncan"] (St. Viator – 2023)

Duncan is making the move over from La Lumiere in Indiana. Flashy playmaker that can dish the rock with flair and break defenders down off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157231" first="Cooper" last="Koch"] (Peoria Notre Dame – 2024)

Koch is a pick and pop four that is extremely skilled. We can’t wait to see what he has in store as a sophomore taking on a bigger role with Noah Reynolds and Lathan Sommerville gone.

[player_tooltip player_id="1157224" first="Mike" last="Jones"] (Rockford Lutheran – 2024)

Jones put himself on the map this summer as a defensive force swatting shots. Offensively he can put it on the deck from mid-range and has touch on the block. Can he break into the top tier of 2024 posts?

[player_tooltip player_id="1157226" first="Josh" last="Pickett"] (West Aurora – 2024)

Pickett transferred from St. Rita where he was part of their young core. New situation at West Aurora and we will closely be monitoring the two guards game as a sophomore.
