Preseason 3A Player of the Year: 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682270" first="Cole" last="Glasgow"], Dallas Center-Grimes

There are a number of good choices for this honor, but we'll go with Glasgow, a hyper-athletic scoring guard who has committed to play his college ball at UMKC. He gets to the rim at scores at a highly efficient clip, is a capable 3-point shooter, and he'll lead a Mustangs team that will be among the best in 3A this season.

First Team

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682270" first="Cole" last="Glasgow"], Dallas Center-Grimes: 16.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 steals, 53.1 FG%

The athletic scoring guard led the Mustangs to the state tournament last year, and will be looking to make a deeper run as a senior. He can fill it up from all three levels, get others involved, and he's a solid on-ball defender who moves his feet well. His efficiency is what stands out about Glasgow's game - he doesn't force anything but he's still an explosive scorer who can get it going in a hurry.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962491" first="Ashton" last="Hermann"], Ballard: 16.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 3.3 steals, 51.4 FG%

A long and lightning-quick wing, Hermann is one of the best in the state at jumping passing lanes and turning defense into quick and easy offense. He's a menace in transition, looking to finish everything above the rim, and he has the ability to break down a defense and get to the bucket in the halfcourt. He was the leading scorer on a Bombers team that was ranked #1 in 3A for a large majority of last season.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682284" first="Karter" last="Petzenhauser"], Spencer: 23.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steals, 55.4 FG%, 39.4 3P%

The leading returning scorer in the class, Petzenhauser is a dominant three-level scoring threat who fills it up in a hurry on a nightly basis for the Tigers. He's a physical wing who uses his frame to bully his way to the rim for finishes, and he's also a good perimeter shooter who is equally comfortable shooting it off the dribble or the catch. He has put together an incredibly productive career with Spencer, and will be looking to lead the Tigers to the state tournament to cap it off.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682292" first="Carson" last="Toebe"], Clear Lake: 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals

A big lead guard who is equally adept at scoring or facilitating, Toebe has seen his role change from a pass-first lead guard as a freshman to dominant wing scorer over the past few seasons. Few players in the state are as good at making contested shots as Toebe is, and he uses his 6-3 frame to help get his shot off against defenders. A four-year varsity standout, Toebe has helped lead the Lions to an incredible amount of success over the last three seasons.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="956878" first="Brayson" last="Laube"], Marion: 15.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steals, 44.1 3P%, 76.5 FT%

Laube has already established himself as one of the best shooters in the state, and he's adding some explosive athleticism and finishing around the rim to his arsenal now. As he has continued to mature physically, he's become more comfortable attacking the rim, and he looks primed to have a massive junior year for the Wolves.
