On Saturday October 9th I attended Anthony Ray’s 23rd annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase at the Phhacility in Phx. AZ.

I only attended the morning session and saw a few big schools and a prep team.

Here are some big school/prep team standouts that caught my eye:

[player_tooltip player_id="1305225" first="Quincy" last="Adams"] Hamilton (Pictured)

A transfer from Texas is a wildly athletic lefty that can shoot it with range. He can get a little streaky with it but he can also get downhill and score it in traffic. He rebounds well in his area, he plays hard, runs the court and he will throw it down way above the rim on the break. He may be a breakout POY candidate for 6A.

[player_tooltip player_id="1127089" first="Michael" last="DeHorney"] Hamilton

An athletic power forward who moves like a wing. He plays hard and will flush it down high above the crowd. He uses his super long arms to block shots and rebounds at a good rate. He runs the floor well and plays with good energy. A big transfer pick up for the Huskies.

[player_tooltip player_id="1066472" first="Carter" last="John"] Hillcrest Prep Post Grad

A high motored guard who shows high effort on the defensive end. He loves getting downhill and scores it through contact with ease. He makes plays for his teammates and scores the ball. He controls the teams tempo of his team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1305234" first="Jonathan" last="Joseph"] Hillcrest Prep Post Grad

A high flyer is a true pogo stick athlete who throws it down with authority. He plays hard, impressively runs the floor and brings a big motor. The more he can extend his range out, the higher level he may go for college.

[player_tooltip player_id="1005725" first="Zach" last="Strauss"] Seton Catholic

A scoring PG is a sharp shooter with a huge IQ. He has deep 3pt range and a high feel for the game. He has a sneaky good burst into the lane and will find teammates all over the court. Drive and kick, split defenders and dish or blow by then dump it off. He can step back on his defender and score it plus uses the floater well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1275429" first="Yarell" last="Greer"] Higley

A scoring defensive point guard has serious speed. He has a crazy burst to the rim and can score it in traffic. He is arguably the best on-ball junior defender in the AIA with his speed and lateral quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id="1128461" first="Jaevyn" last="Yancey"] Higley

A long post player who keeps making strides. He uses his length to rebound, he runs the court and will block shots. He can face-up to the 3pt line and score it around the basket.
