As we enter the first game week of the year for the Eastern Dakota Conference, its time to make predictions on who I believe will be named to the EDC all-conference team this season. Making a list like this was very difficult because of the array of talent that the conference possess. Not a bad problem to have for someone who gets to watch and write about these players, but conforming this selection of players was hard nonetheless.

[player_tooltip player_id="812229" first="Ian" last="Motschenbacher"] - Fargo Davies - 12

As an unanimous all-conference player his junior year, there is no doubt that Motschenbacher will once again be a top player in the EDC. For a guy that’s equip with deep range, good finishing around the rim, and a skilled mid range game, Ian will have no problem seeing this name on this list once again.

[player_tooltip player_id="1161486" first="Alex" last="Proctor"] - Fargo Davies - 12

When it comes to play making athletic guards, you won’t find many that are more exciting in the EDC than [player_tooltip player_id="1161486" first="Alex" last="Proctor"]. He’s got bounce that will rattle the rim, is a menace in transition, and in my mind will have no problem being recognized as an all-edc talent.

[player_tooltip player_id="1144475" first="Jeremiah" last="Sem"] - Fargo North - 10

Coming in as the only sophomore on my list is the highlight reel known as [player_tooltip player_id="1144475" first="Jeremiah" last="Sem"]. In all my years of watching ND basketball I have only seen a few young players with the bounce, skill set, and fearlessness that this kid plays with. There is no hesitation when I say that he will be an unanimous selection at the seasons end.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046363" first="Jalen" last="May"] - Fargo North - 12

After putting up a very respectable stat line as a junior and playing the stretch four role very nicely for the Spartans, I have [player_tooltip player_id="1046363" first="Jalen" last="May"] as a guy that will step up even more this coming season. Don’t be surprised if you see his name on this list in just a few months time.

[player_tooltip player_id="812228" first="Luke" last="Loberg"] - Fargo North - 12

Rounding up the Fargo North Spartans we have skilled forward [player_tooltip player_id="812228" first="Luke" last="Loberg"]. A player that I believe will be honored because he is experienced in the post, smooth from beyond the arc, and tough on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id="812222" first="Paine" last="Parks"] - Red River - 12

[player_tooltip player_id="812222" first="Paine" last="Parks"], a tough guard who finishes great around the rim, displays top notch court vision, and hustles on both ends of the court. What I just did there was undersell Paine, because it would take a few paragraphs to really describe how great this kid is. Expect to see him as an unanimous player come march.

[player_tooltip player_id="1115649" first="Zach" last="Kraft"] - Red River - 11

Another new name that I believe will get added to the all-conference pool is Red River sniper [player_tooltip player_id="1115649" first="Zach" last="Kraft"]. Watching this guy shoot the rock and facilitate to his teammates was so enjoyable, and I believe that he is going to kill it as a junior.

[player_tooltip player_id="812219" first="Carson" last="Hegerle"] - West Fargo - 12

Joining Motschenbacher as a top guy in the East this year is [player_tooltip player_id="812219" first="Carson" last="Hegerle"]. As a state champion last season the Packer showed off his elite scoring skills, impressive athletics, and on-ball defense. It would be surprising if Carson did not go back to back as a unanimous selection.

[player_tooltip player_id="812231" first="Brett" last="Limke"] - West Fargo - 12

Adding to the small clan of snipers in the Easter Dakota Conference is Packer guard [player_tooltip player_id="812231" first="Brett" last="Limke"]. A player who found himself on this list last year because of his ability to shoot the rock from deep and find his teammates with impressive passing. As the packers look to repeat as champions, expect Brett to be at the forefront of the group.

[player_tooltip player_id="1161460" first="Nick" last="Carlson"] - West Fargo - 12

Completing the impressive trio over at West Fargo is [player_tooltip player_id="1161460" first="Nick" last="Carlson"], a player who can score from anywhere, rebound at a consistent rate, and block shots with great timing. In my mind Nick will be one of the most improved players this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046354" first="Michael" last="Nhial"] - West Fargo Sheyenne - 12

Checking in on the Mustangs we have senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="1046354" first="Michael" last="Nhial"]. This kid is an explosive athlete that has no problem dunking on your head, a solid three point shooter, and is a skilled player on the drive. Watch out for him this season, because I have a feeling he will be a crowd pleaser on a nightly basis.

[player_tooltip player_id="812221" first="Dominic" last="Dosmann"] - West Fargo Sheyenne - 12

Playing down low from Nhial is big man for the Sheyenne Mustangs [player_tooltip player_id="812221" first="Dominic" last="Dosmann"]. This tower of a player has soft touch around the rim and has no problem sending shots back on the defensive end. He along with [player_tooltip player_id="1046354" first="Michael" last="Nhial"] will make an excellent 1-2 punch for their senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1128188" first="Conner" last="Kraft"] - Fargo Shanley - 11

Special, that’s the first word I think of when I hear the name [player_tooltip player_id="1128188" first="Conner" last="Kraft"]. At 6 foot 7 inches tall this kid has the potential to be an elite scorer and shot blocker, making his ceiling extremely high. Its not often that you see a player go from not being all-conference to being unanimous the next season, but I think that Kraft can get it done.

[player_tooltip player_id="1123122" first="Tyler" last="Kraft"] - Fargo Shanley - 12

Keeping on with the Kraft name is another Shanley Deacon, [player_tooltip player_id="1123122" first="Tyler" last="Kraft"]. A skilled perimeter guard who has a smooth stroke, moves well without the ball, and can create a drive for himself whenever he needs. This season the Kraft combo is as scary as it gets in the EDC.

[player_tooltip player_id="1138774" first="Ethan" last="Manock"] - Wahpeton - 11

Of all the explosive athletes we have talked about so far, [player_tooltip player_id="1138774" first="Ethan" last="Manock"] out of Wahpeton is near the top of the list. As a guy that plays like he is much larger, Manock brings the energy to the court with rim shaking dunks and volleyball spike blocks. If you are a sucker for energizing basketball, do yourself a favor and watch Ethan play.
