The CVC is one of the more competitive conferences in the Garden State with several teams having the opportunity to be the best team in the division. The conference has solid players, who should have big seasons in 2021-22. Here are the top CVC players to watch this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1150536" first="Davontay" last="Hutson"], 6’2 SG Trenton 2023

The Tornadoes were one of the top teams in the CVC last season and Hutson’s play was a big reason. The 6’2 guard is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and can make layups through contact. Hutson has a nice touch on his free throws and is an underrated passer. He is one of the top rebounding wings in the class and makes plays on the defensive end. Hutson is a two-way wing prospect who is looking to lead the Tornadoes deep into the postseason.

[player_tooltip player_id="1035700" first="Arterio" last="Williams"], 6’6 SF/PF Hamilton West 2022

The Hornets need someone to step up on the interior and Williams should take advantage. The 6’6 forward has a strong frame which he uses to get position down low. Williams explodes off the floor and finishes above the rim with authority. He uses his athleticism to impact shots defensively and is an underrated passer. Williams is an athletic forward prospect who is set to explode this season.

Brian Herbert, 6’3 SG Robbinsville 2022

Herbert is the Ravens’ top returning scorer and should have a strong final varsity season. The 6’3 guard is a marksman from distance as he has a quick release and can knock down triples in bunches. Herbert moves exceptionally well off the ball, freeing himself up for open layups and jumpers. He is an underrated defender and is a strong rebounder for a guard. Herbert is a player to watch in the CVC with his ability to knock down jumpers from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045873" first="Keenan" last="Reiss"], 6’1 CG Hightstown 2023

Reiss is a breakout contender in the conference as he gets more opportunities on the offensive end. The 6’1 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Reiss is more than just a slasher as he can also knock down jumpers from behind the arc and has a good release on his jumper. He is a good rebounder and the ball does not stick in his hands. Reiss is a scoring guard prospect who is looking to help the Rams in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1152305" first="Chris" last="Vlahos"], 6’3 SG Notre Dame 2023

Vlahos is the top returning scorer for the Irish and should be a player to watch in Mercer County. The 6’3 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and shoots the ball with confidence. Vlahos can also score in the mid-range and is capable of finishing around the basket. He moves well off the ball and is an underrated defender. Vlahos is a skilled shooting guard prospect who should get more looks in Notre Dame’s offense this season.
