Breakout Players – Class of 2022 (Class 3A & 4A)

Trey Campbell Trey Campbell 6'4" | PG Cedar Falls | 2022 State IA , Cedar Falls - After averaging 13.9 points a game last year, and committing to UNI this summer, we know Trey Campbell Trey Campbell 6'4" | PG Cedar Falls | 2022 State IA is good. The UNI commit is a great scorer at all levels, and also knows how to distribute the ball (5.0 apg). With four of five starters graduating for the Tigers, Campbell and Dallas Bear Dallas Bear 6'8" | SF Cedar Falls | 2023 State #276 Nation IA (’23) will take the reigns. Look for Campbell to up his scoring average, and for the Tigers to have another solid year.
Jamison Gruber Jamison Gruber 6'1" | PG Council Bluffs Lincoln | 2022 State IA , Council Bluffs Lincoln - Alongside Josh Dix Josh Dix 6'5" | SG Council Bluffs Lincoln | 2022 State #149 Nation IA , Gruber returns for the Lynx after ranking third on the team in scoring (11.9 ppg) and tied for the team-high in assists with 4.3 a per game. Ranked 24th in the class of ’22, Gruber is solid on the defensive end as well, with over two steals a game. Gruber can score inside and out and is very handsy on defense. With the graduation of three seniors from the rotation, look for Gruber to pick up some more scoring this year, and look for him and Dix to lead the Lynx this season.
Kyle Schrepfer Kyle Schrepfer 6'0" | SG Clear Creek Amana | 2022 State IA , Clear Creek-Amana - Schrepfer is the lone returner for the Clippers this year. Outside of the five starters, CCA didn’t get much production. The door is wide open for Schrepfer to have a great season. The 6’0" guard is solid all-around and averaged 11.1 points a game last year. Schrepfer is an outstanding shooter, leading the team last year shooting 42% from beyond the arc. As the lone returner, Schrepfer is poised for a big season.
Noah Allen Noah Allen 5'11" | PG Pella | 2022 State IA , Pella - Coming off the bench for the Dutch last season, Allen was third on the team in scoring, averaging 12.3 per game. This season, Allen will return alongside Parker Elder Parker Elder 6'4" | SF Pella | 2022 State IA and Carl Miller. Even with a solid core returning, Allen’s ability to score every good. Committed to Mount Marty in South Dakota, keep an eye on Allen to have a solid senior season.

Jaxson Young Jaxson Young 6'0" | SG Linn-Mar | 2022 State IA , Linn-Mar - The 6’2" guard for the Lions led the team in scoring (11.2 ppg), rebounds (4.3 rpg), and assists (2.4 apg) last season. Young is very athletic, very quick off the dribble, and excellent at scoring in transition. Coming off a great summer with the Barnstormers, Young is ready for a big senior season. 

Jamari Newson Jamari Newson 6'2" | PG Iowa City | 2022 State IA , Iowa City High - In a shortened season last year for the Little Hawks, Newson was second on the team in scoring (10.8 ppg), and led the team in rebounds with almost seven per game. Newson is very good at creating space, getting to the hoop, and can also step out and shoot. With three starters graduating, Newson and Darren Richardson Darren Richardson 6'0" | CG Iowa City | 2022 State IA will lead the Little Hawks in the 21-22 season.
