Practice has started around the state and a number of guys from last year are at new locations for the 2021-22 season. Here’s a look at some of the top transfers for this upcoming season, both in-state transfers and guys coming in from outside of the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="962928" first="Moroni" last="Seely-Roberts"] and [player_tooltip player_id="962929" first="Malachi" last="Seely-Roberts"] (2023 Lincoln)

The twins helped lead Yamhill-Carlton to an unofficial 3A title in 2021 and come over with their head coach and mom, Heather Seely-Roberts to Lincoln looking to prove themselves at the 6A level. Look for the 6-foot-6 Moroni to score both inside and out while the 6-foot-8 Malachi will get his opportunity to score from long range and also handle the point as needed.

[player_tooltip player_id="861088" first="Graham" last="Eikenberry"] (2023 Lincoln)

As if having the twins weren’t enough, the Cardnials also picked up Eikenberry from Central Catholic, who at 6-foot-9 helps make Lincoln the biggest team in the PIL if not the state. The junior should anchor the post with his rebounding, defense, and occasional scoring which will free up the twins to play more outside.

[player_tooltip player_id="964545" first="Henri" last="Perrin"] (2022 Wells)

One guy that isn’t returning to Lincoln but instead will be at rival Wells is Perrin, who was one of the few bright spots for the Cardinals last year. The 6-foot-4 wing is hard-nosed and has the ability to hit shots and create off of the dribble. His additional size will give Wells head coach Craig Cokely some more options on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="865367" first="Sean" last="Chris Tresvant"] (2023 Cleveland)

Tresvant started many games at Central Catholic last season but will now transition to the PIL as he’s moved over to Cleveland. The 5-foot-10 guard is quick with the dribble and should fit right in offensively and defensively into the Warriors schemes.

[player_tooltip player_id="1268430" first="Miguel" last="Taylor"] (2024 Benson)

It’s not often a 6-foot-6 transfer comes in from out-of-state, but that’s exactly what Taylor is as he moved to Portland from Idaho. He obviously will give the Techmen some size but don’t expect him to necessarily play inside as Taylor is more of a perimeter player who does as much damage with his outside shooting as he does getting to the hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id="1079533" first="Payton" last="Meyers"] (2022 Canby)

Meyers makes the jump up from 4A North Marion to Canby where he should have an immediate impact. The versatile 6-foot-6 guard should provide instant shooting and athleticism to the perimeter attack for head coach Craig Evans, and will also contribute with his ability to handle and pass the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="1085785" first="Trask" last="Petersen"] (2022 West Linn)

Peterson comes to West Linn from Tillamook where he was one of the team’s top two scorers along with [player_tooltip player_id="1079530" first="Marshall" last="Allen"]. The 6-foot-2 guard will have more of a complimentary role as a rotation guy for the Lions, playing behind [player_tooltip player_id="861091" first="Jackson" last="Shelstad"] and [player_tooltip player_id="857359" first="Zeke" last="Viuhkola"].

[player_tooltip player_id="1256728" first="Ty" last="Best"] (2023 Cascade)

Cascade is going to be considered one of the favorites in 4A and the addition of Best certainly has helped their cause. At 6-foot-7, strong, and athletic he was already a matchup problem at the 2A level at Santiam and should be the same for Cascade.

[player_tooltip player_id="1079535" first="Chaz" last="Storm"] (2022 Western Christian)

Also moving on from Santiam is Storm, who will remain at the 2A level at Western Christian. The 6-foot-6 forward is one of the top outside shooters in the entire state at any classification and there’s no doubt he will continue to light things up from the outside at his new school.
