Preseason Player of the Year: 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="956871" first="Blaise" last="Porter"], New London

A 6-2 lead guard who holds offers from Bryant and IUPUI, Porter is arguably the best player in 1A basketball. A lightning-quick guard with handles, physicality, and an incredible amount of talent, he impacts the game on both ends of the floor for the Tigers.

First Team

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="956871" first="Blaise" last="Porter"], New London: 22.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.3 steals, 52.5 FG%, 41.1 3P%, 74.5 FT%

The division's leading returnee in scoring and assists, Porter is a dynamo who can score from all three levels efficiently, get others involved, and make a major impact on the defensive end of the floor.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="956872" first="Kade" last="Benjamin"], New London: 17.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.6 steals, 3.1 blocks, 66.3 FG%

Porter's running mate in New London is a 6-7 big man who runs the floor and protects the rim at a high level. Benjamin's 74 blocks would have finished second in the division last year if he was his own team! (Danville had 82 blocks). He has steadily improved his offensive game and with his size and skill set, he's a difficult matchup at this level and a perfect complement to Porter.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962693" first="Landon" last="Becker"], Cardinal: 16.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals, 54.8 FG%, 53.3 3P%

Becker played in just three games last season but showed just how dominant he can be when he's on the floor, putting up 16.7 points a game with impressive shooting splits. If he can stay healthy, the Comets could be a real sleeper this year.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962689" first="Griffin" last="Greiner"], Cardinal: 12.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 3.0 steals

A stat-sheet stuffer for the Comets, Greiner does a little bit of everything for this team. He led the team in scoring, assists, and steals, and was second in rebounding last season.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962692" first="Ty" last="Carr"], Danville: 12.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.7 steals, 39.1 3P%

A talented shooter and passer, Carr led the Bears in scoring, assists, and steals last season while burying 39% of his 3-point attempts. Between his scoring and assists, he was responsible for at least 40% of the team's scoring output last season.
