What South Florida prospects could lead the area in scoring? There are plenty of talented players that can put the ball in the basket at will. I think certain players might surprise after a good scoring group left in the Class of 2021.

Here are some quick picks…

[player_tooltip player_id="709256" first="Jamai" last="Hager-Tejada"] – Miami Northwestern

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709256" first="Jamai" last="Hager-Tejada"] is an aggressive player that can score in hurry. The 5-foot-10 guard is a three-level scorer that should have no problem putting up 20+ points per game. With Mater Lakes Academy, I saw him score 35 points against McArthur. Hager-Tejada has the capability of going on a quarter run where he simply dominates. Some players just have that mindset, and Hager-Tejada is one of them.

[player_tooltip player_id="709251" first="Nate" last="Sasser"] – Suncoast

Based on his talent level, I’m expecting a big season from 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709251" first="Nate" last="Sasser"]. The 6-foot-6 small forward has superior athleticism at his position and on the court overall. Sasser can score in the halfcourt and should be damaging in transition. It also helps he’s playing with a talented point guard in 2024 Stone Bureau. They should rack up plays together.

[player_tooltip player_id="1062420" first="Noah" last="Kattan"] – Cypress Bay

The Lightning have some talented players on its roster and 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1062420" first="Noah" last="Kattan"] is one of them. The 6-foot-3 guard has a knack to score off the dribble and can do so in hurry. Kattan has quick release and knocks down 3-pointers with regularity. His high IQ on the court should also be to his advantage. I’m expecting some big games from Kattan. College coaches should definitely look at him over in Weston.

[player_tooltip player_id="962427" first="Koree" last="Cotton"] – Miami Southridge

Cotton is a 6-foot-5 guard with a ton of athleticism and shooting ability. He can score off the dribble and has a good mid-range game. I believe his size and mentioned athleticism will cause opponents problems. Cotton has been offered by Florida Gulf Coast. I like him to have a great season on a very talented Spartans team.

Others to watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="955776" first="Daniel" last="Zaladon"] – Keys Gate

[player_tooltip player_id="1301714" first="Cameron" last="Boozer"] – Miami Columbus

[player_tooltip player_id="709245" first="Jasai" last="Miles"] – Miami Country Day

[player_tooltip player_id="814913" first="Esteban" last="Lluberes"] – Riviera Prep
