<p>The Great Western Classic is always one of the marquee events of the Fall. Hosted by recruiting legend Tim Davis, the event featured teams from Utah and around the Western Region. The age groups range from 3rd grade through Varsity Level. This year's event ran from October 7th through October 9th and was held in the Salt Lake area, with several venues hosting, including Lehi, American Fork, and Juan Diego. Several players with local ties showed up and showed out. In this article, a follow up to <a href="https://prephoops.com/2021/10/great-western-classic-recap-local-standouts/">Local Standouts part 1</a> we take a look at some local standouts from the event.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1076676" first="Diego" last="Sharp"] <em>6'1 SG ABC Prep 2022 (#10PHNM 2022)</em> - Sharp put his athletic ability on display this weekend. He was at his best on the defensive end, defending both backcourt spots, while getting steals and deflections.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1280497" first="Timothy" last="Nitafan"] <em>5'10 PG ABC Prep 2022 (#26PHNM)</em> - Nitafan was a scrappy glue guy that wore his heart on his sleeve for the team. The PG was good on the defensive end. He showed quick feet, along with the ability to play aggressive on ball defense.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1069704" first="Dylan" last="Chavez"] 6'4 SG ABC Prep 2024 - Chavez is a rising sophomore who did a lot of the facilitating for ABC this weekend. He was good in transition, making the right decisions on 2 on 1 and 3 on 2 breaks. He's always had the ability to shoot it, but if he continues creating plays for teammates, his stock will continue to rise.</p>
<p><strong>Owen Boyack</strong> <em>6'4 PF Centennial 2022</em> - Boyack brought the beef this weekend. He was both heart and soul for the Bulldogs. The bruising forward, played tough interior defense, battled for rebounds, and defended at a high level.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1292325" first="Marcus" last="James"] <em>6'2 SG Centennial 2022 (#73PHN 2022)</em> - James was another high energy glue guy for Centennial. He did a lot of little things to help the team win. The athletic guard, provided ballhandling, and defended both backcourt spots effectively.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="928926" first="Jayven" last="Jones"] <em>5'11 SG Centennial 2022 (#64PHN 2022)</em> - Jones was the muscle for the team. He was effective playing downhill, using ball fakes to lift defenders, allowing him to get consistent paint touches, and score around the basket.</p>
