Some talent that might have went missed are the freshman in attendance. In this article we’ll discuss 5 of the most talented freshman that put on a show and hopefully caught the attention of some college teams.
Markus Talley Markus Talley 6'2" | PG Mitchell | 2025 State SD – Mitchell – (5’10/PG/2025) – Talley is a lightning quick, shifty guard that can get all the way to the rim or hit you with a smooth step back. He has tight handles and a low gravitational pull when performing cross overs. Markus will be a true freshman for Mitchell this year and it’ll be interesting to see I’m progress as a player over the next 4 years.
Drew Kempel Drew Kempel 6'4" | PG Bismarck Century | 2025 State ND – Bismarck Century – (6’2/SG/2025) – Kempel has some nice handles. His go to move is an inside out cross which is pretty polished for only being a freshman. He showed the ability to be fearless when attacking the rim against bigger post players. He’s got a great looking running floater and has the ability to finish in traffic.
Easton Neuendorf Easton Neuendorf 5'11" | PG Hamlin | 2025 State SD – Mitchell – (5’8/PG/2025) – A crafty guard that can score in a number of ways. He looked to be at his best in the open court in creating different opportunities on the drive for his teammates. I really enjoyed the way Neuendorf defends bigger guards being able to get right in there pocket and disrupt the flow of their dribble. A true freshman with a high ceiling with the ability to be very versatile on the court.
Konnar Furman Konnar Furman 6'6" | SF Aberdeen Christian | 2025 State SD – Aberdeen Christian – (6’5/PF/2025) – Furman is a true Freshman. He’s raw, but moldable. He showed some really toughness under the rim, but ultimately was out muscled by bigger post players. He has nice footwork and soft hook shot. I think Furman is a real dark horse player that will need to grow into his body more. With an addition of a consistent mid-range shot he could be a really good asset for AC this year.
Ramsey Walz Ramsey Walz 6'7" | PF Bishop Ryan | 2025 State #313 Nation ND – Bishop Ryan – (6’3/SF/2025) – A 6’3 forward that plays like he’s 6’6. Ramsey gets big and aggressive with whoever he defends. It was a pleasure watching him go against bigger offensive minded big’s during the expo. He held his own and showed a lot of basketball knowledge.
