The first session will take place at U-Turn in Richmond with games starting at 1. There are 18 teams in the event, and will be two more sessions on 10/10 and 10/24 at U-Turn as well.
There are a lot of prospects to preview in the event, so stay tuned on Prep Hoops and if you can’t make it in person you can tune into the live stream on the CBG Live Network.
Here’s a look at part three of the many 2022 prospects that will be in attendance.
Jacob Cooper Jacob Cooper 5'9" | PG Green Run | 2021 State VA | 5’9” PG | Combine Post Grad
Cooper had a big time showing at the CBG Winter Series and in the CBG Unsigned Senior Showcase before deciding to prep at Combine, and he’ll return with them to show why despite his size he’s a division one prospect. The 5’9” lead guard controls the game like few can, he plays with great pace and can get anywhere on the court he wants, he’s a highly skilled shooter and scorer and he makes everyone on the team better as well.
Jayson Harris Jayson Harris 6'6" | PF Menchville | 2021 State VA | 6’7” PF | Combine Post Grad
Another CBG alumn that headed to Combine for a post grad year, Harris was excellent throughout the Fall Series with Hard 2 Guard last year and picked up a couple of division two offers and should continue that momentum this year. A strong and skilled big in the paint, Harris has good footwork and is a good finisher through traffic, he can step out and make shots from beyond the arc and he’s able to run the floor and finish above the rim too.
Rob Lawson | 5’11” PG | National Christian
Lawson leads a loaded National Christian team that had success in a number of CBG events last year and future a lot of new players, including himself. A dynamic and smooth lead guard, Lawson can both run the team while also filling it up off the bounce as he has good quickness and shift, he can make shots from multiple levels and he’s excellent in ball screens and can make plays for others.
Moussa Ngom | 6’9” PF | National Christian
Ngom is a very intriguing prospect moving forward as you don’t find many bigs with his size that move the way he does. He’s shown a lot of improvement over the past few years as he’s improved his hands and his timing in the paint, he has put on strength and become more physical in the post and he seems to be more aggressive on both ends. It could be a great chance for coaches to see an available big in a year where they’re hard to find.
Paul Mason | 6’7” PF | National Christian
Mason is another intriguing available big man for National Christian who doesn’t have the length or height that Ngom has but he’s very physical and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work. He’s an excellent screener and uses his body to carve out space to finish and rebound, he can switch defensively and stay in front of guards and he does all the little things that help his team win.
Tekao Carpenter | 6’2” WG | National Christian
Carpeneter had a good showing in multiple CBG events for MD Justice last year and comes back to show coaches that he deserves more attention. The 6’2” guard is long and can play on or off the basketball, he knows how to use his length to get deflections and cause problems on the defensive end and he can move off the ball to get open and knock down shots consistently.
Amare Johnson | 6’4” WG | National Christian
When it comes to available shooters in the DMV area, there aren’t many that have the consistency and range that Johnson has. The 6’4” two guard has good size and a strong build, he can set his feet and let it fly from well beyond the three-point line, he relocates well to get open and when he lets it go you can almost always count on him knocking it down.
