The UCC is filled with talented players every year and this season is no different. The available pool got a little bit smaller as Oratory Prep’s [player_tooltip player_id="1013054" first="Tommy" last="Conniff"] committed to Lehigh last night. The conference is still filled with talented players who can make an impact at the next level. Here are the top available 2022 prospects in the UCC.

[player_tooltip player_id="1025905" first="Jamarques" last="Lawrence"], 6’2 SG Roselle Catholic

Lawrence is down to a final two of Nebraska and Wake Forest, so he could be off the board sooner rather than later. The 6’2 guard is a sniper from long range as he has a quick release on his jumper and deep range. Lawrence is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He moves exceptionally well off the ball and is an underrated defender. Lawrence will be one of the leaders for Roselle Catholic this season as the Lions look to claim another Tournament of Champions title.

[player_tooltip player_id="901992" first="Braxton" last="Jones"], 6’0 PG Roselle Catholic

Jones is part of a deep backcourt group, but he will still be able to find an important role this season. The Trenton Catholic transfer is a marksman from deep with a good shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Jones is more than just a shooter as he can also run the offense and get to the basket from the perimeter. He is an underrated passer and moves his feet on the defensive end. Jones’ ability to hit shots from deep along with his defense is something that will help his stock throughout the season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1147089" first="Etienne" last="Richelieu"], 6’4 SG Elizabeth

Richelieu had a strong junior campaign for the Minutemen and should have an even better year this season. The 6’4 wing attacks the basket with a purpose and is unafraid of finishing through contact. Richelieu has a nice release on his jumper and can make defenders pay for giving him space on the perimeter. He is a strong rebounder and is a good on-ball defender. Richelieu is a two-way wing prospect who should be a prospect to watch in Union County this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="901975" first="Zy’ree" last="Beverly"], 6’6 PF Elizabeth

Beverly is primed for a breakout season as the Minutemen look to continue their dominance in Group 4. The 6’6 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to create space down low. Beverly can draw contact around the rim and can hit shots close to the basket. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is a good post defender. Beverly is a glue guy who does the little things to help Elizabeth win games.

[player_tooltip player_id="1146391" first="Zander" last="Barraza"], 6’0 PG Westfield

Barraza made an impact during his first year starting for the Blue Devils and should have a larger role this season. The 6’0 guard is a dangerous shooter as he can bury triples in bunches and has a good release on his jumper. Barraza moves well off the ball, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups. He has a nice handle and is an underrated passer. Barraza’s shooting is something that will help his stock in a big way in 2021-22 season.

Other Prospects to Watch:

Alif Bass, 5’11 PG Roselle Catholic

[player_tooltip player_id="1018571" first="Jaden" last="Carter"], 5’11 PG Scotch Plains-Fanwood

[player_tooltip player_id="1018568" first="Cameron" last="Campbell"], 5’10 PG Dayton

[player_tooltip player_id="1146240" first="Kareem" last="Kelsey"], 6’1 PG Elizabeth

[player_tooltip player_id="1268670" first="Zion" last="Hammond"], 6’1 CG Cranford
