The 2022 class in North Carolina are starting to make their commitments, but there’s still plenty of talent still left on the board, too. Here’s a look at Part II of the Best Available Prospects in the 2022 rankings.

No. 16 [player_tooltip player_id="577848" first="Elijah" last="Gray"] | Hargrave Military

Gray is spending his final season at Hargrave Military after a strong year at Ardrey Kell High that saw his squad make it all the way to the state finals. He’s a versatile forward that can finish around the rim and knock shots on the perimeter and in the mid-range. As he improves his physicality, he’ll be a name to keep eyes on in the class. UNC-Wilmington, East Tennessee State, Radford, Murray State, Charlotte, ODU and others have offered him already.

No. 18 [player_tooltip player_id="577844" first="Shane" last="Fernald"] | Lake Norman Christian

Fernald is one of the more underrecruited names in the state at 6-foot-8 with a knack for operating inside and out on both ends of the floor. He’s got nice length he uses well to take what the defense gives him without forcing things and has a ton of room to add bulk as a stretch-forward. Mid-major and D2 high-major colleges would be wise to track him. Guilford College and Hampden-Sydney have offered him.

No. 20 [player_tooltip player_id="577860" first="Zaharee" last="Maddox"] | Davie High

Maddox is a two-sport athlete that excels at football as a wide receiver and basketball as a floor general with high IQ for making plays. He’s quick with the ball in his hands and plays a smart brand of basketball to keep his opponents guessing. He’s set to have a strong senior year at Davie High. He’s another mid-major/low-major prospect at the point guard spot worth taking a look.

No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id="848060" first="Po’Boigh" last="King"] | Word of God

King is a prospect who’s recruitment has gotten quiet over the past few months. He’s one of the best available shooters in the class with the ability to operate off the bounce and off the catch with a ton of promise. He’s due to be a steal at the next level for a college program.

No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id="848074" first="Chase" last="Lowe"] | Weddington

Lowe is an underrated prospect set to turn more heads at Weddington High as his squad looks to repeat as state champs. He’s a strong combo guard at 6-foot-6 that can play a number of positions on the floor given his strength and length. He’s a knockdown shooter and physical prospect that likes to get downhill and finish in traffic. He holds offer from Army and Elon with more to come very soon.

No. 24 [player_tooltip player_id="1028008" first="Christian" last="Cornish"] | Lake Norman Christian

Cornish is one of the more underrated two-way wings in the 2022 class set to make his debut for Lake Norman Christian in 2021-22. He’s a 6-foot-5 prospect that can play either guard spot and has enough length to play the forward spot as well. He likes to get downhill and make plays off the bounce and can knock down shots on the perimeter.
