The 270 Hoops proving grounds was a collection of 28 of the top prospects from the central Ohio region. Here are the top 2023-2024 performers from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="867951" first="Devin" last="Royal"], 6’6 SF Pickerington Central 2023: Royal was named MVP of the event, leading his team to the championship. Royal came out of the gates super strong, throwing down multiple dunks in the first couple games. Royal has established himself as a potential high major prospect this summer and has only continued to boost his stock each time he steps on the floor. Royal is WAY more explosive than he was a year ago, really showing that off on Sunday. Royal is on track to dominate for Pickerington Central next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="922605" first="Dailyn" last="Swain"], 6’6 SF Africentric 2023: The highest ranked prospect in central Ohio that’s uncommitted, Swain once again showed why he’s a nationally ranked recruit. Swain has incredibly long strides, being able to beat defenders off the triple threat without a great first step. Swain’s jumper is coming along, as he hit a couple tough mid-range shots off the bounce. If Swain is hitting 3-pointers at a more consistent rate, it’s going to be almost impossible to guard him.

[player_tooltip player_id="922602" first="Ryan" last="Nutter"], 6’4 PG Dublin Jerome 2023: Nutter showed why he’s regarded as one of the top point guards in the 2023 class with some absolute dimes throughout the day. Not much of a scorer, but Nutter still found a way to make an impact on both ends. I firmly believe that Nutter will end up as a Division I prospect, I see a lot of [player_tooltip player_id="714540" first="Ben" last="Knostman"] in him. I’d like to see Nutter get better at scoring for himself, but he’s a high level floor general.

[player_tooltip player_id="1222373" first="Jesse" last="Burris"], 6’4 SF Delaware Hayes 2024: Burris was the unquestioned breakout star from the event. Burris was knocking down 3-pointers at a very high clip all day. Defenders weren’t closing out to him quick enough, and he was making them pay. Burris was doing more offensively than just shooting the ball, making a couple euro-steps and two foot finishes. Burris also had a couple blocks on the defensive end. I’m very impressed with his performance as he could be one of the best central Ohio prospects in the 2024 class.
