Preseason Player of the Year: 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682292" first="Carson" last="Toebe"], Clear Lake

The league's best player on the league's best team, Toebe is an easy selection here for the POY honors. He's a dynamic scoring threat from all three levels and a good passer who contributes across the board on both ends of the floor.

First Team

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="682292" first="Carson" last="Toebe"], Clear Lake: 19.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals

Toebe is the best player in this conference, and he's the league's leading returning scorer. He has been a dominant player for all three years at Clear Lake so far, helping lead a resurgence at the school. He's a tough shot-maker, good decision-maker, and a strong defender.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158451" first="Garrett" last="Goche"], Algona: 13.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals, 46.2 FG%

A 6-2 wing who thrives on putting his head down and getting to the bucket, Goche's 113 free-throw attempts ranked third, and are tops among returnees, in the league last season, and his 85 made free-throws are also tops among returnees.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1167725" first="Ty" last="McKinney"], Webster City: 11.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.5 steals

McKinney is a 6-0 lead guard who led the Lynx in scoring and was second in assists last season. With two double-figure scorers graduated, look for his scoring and assist numbers to skyrocket this year with the ball in his hands much more often.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962687" first="Connor" last="State"], Clarion-Goldfield-Dows: 16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.2 steals, 2.8 blocks, 53.4 FG%

A 6-4 forward, State dominates the painted area on both ends of the floor for the Cowboys. He led the league in blocks last season, and ranks second among returnees in scoring and first in rebounding.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962665" first="Blake" last="Janssen"], Iowa Falls-Alden: 9.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists

Following the graduations of a pair of big scorers, Janssen will need to become a go-to scoring threat for the Cadets. He's one of the better passers in the state, showing excellent court vision and creative passing chops last season.
