The 2023 rankings have a ton of new talent on the board at PrepHoopsNC. Here’s a look at Part II of some New Faces in the 2023 Rankings.

No. 35 [player_tooltip player_id="1277983" first="Nick" last="Dorn"] | 6’5 Guard/Wing | JL Chambers High

Dorn is an electric wing prospect set to make waves in the JL Chambers High rotation in 2021-22. He clocks in at No. 35 given his size, frame and skillset at 6-foot-5 on the perimeter and in open space. He’s recently drawn interest from the likes of Belmont and Valparaiso with his ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor.

No 66 [player_tooltip player_id="1257255" first="James" last="McCreary"] | 6’1 Guard | North Surry High

McCreary is an instant offense type of guard prospect to keep an eye on at North Surry High alongside [player_tooltip player_id="951363" first="Jahreece" last="Lynch"] in 2021-22. He controls the pace of the game well with his ability to score on all three levels and be an effective defender using his underrated length. Look for his name to grow in the 2023 class this fall.

No. 69 [player_tooltip player_id="1253928" first="Trey" last="Boyd"] | 6’2 Guard | Panther Creek High

Boyd enters the 2023 rankings as the No. 69 ranked overall prospect in the class as a 6-foot-2 guard. He’s got nice confidence on both ends of the floor that he uses to find ways to create shot opportunities on the perimeter. As he shows his effectiveness on the defensive end, look for his recruitment to grow in this class.

No. 86 [player_tooltip player_id="1278076" first="Antonio" last="Perkins"] | 6’3 Guard/Wing | Northside Christian Academy

Perkins is a new face that played this past season at Hopewell High and looks to boost the backcourt production for Northside Christian Academy. He produced 12.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.3 spg and 1.1 bpg this past season in the Hopewell rotation, showing off his ability to score the ball, rebound and make plays on both ends of the floor, especially at the rim defensively. Look for him to carve a role in the Knights rotation in 2021-22.

No. 90 [player_tooltip player_id="993656" first="Evan" last="Montanari"] | 6’2 Guard | Gaston Day School

Montanari is a recent mover in the 2023 class with a move to the prep school scene with Gaston Day School. He’ll be quite the 1-2 combination alongside [player_tooltip player_id="1155694" first="Colin" last="Fayed"] as he was during the summer months with Upward Stars SE. He’s a guard with a nice all-around feel for the game and an efficient shooter on the perimeter as well. Get eyes on him soon.
