We just have to get through one more full month until the return of high school basketball! For the time being though, let’s look at some recruiting headlines in the Maryland/DC area over the past week.
2023 Jayden Ross Jayden Ross 6'7" | SF Long Island Lutheran | 2023 #144 Nation MD ’ stock continues to rise
We had plenty of chances to see Ross this spring and summer with Team Melo. Each time the 6-foot-7 wing showed signs of improvement. Not only did he grow rapidly in the height department over the last 12 months, but his game has blossomed significantly. The word is out and schools are beginning to take notice. Temple is his most recent offer that was extended on his visit last week. George Mason got involved the first chance they could on June 15 and now Ross will take an unofficial visit to Penn State this weekend. As the high school season ramps up, expect Ross to fill a vital role for Saint James as a junior and more schools to get in the mix.
2023 Carlton Carrington Carlton Carrington 6'4" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #84 Nation MD receiving national recognition
We’ve written about Carrington over the last few months with his improved play displayed throughout the June Live Period and his summer with Team Melo. Now suiting up for St. Frances this winter, more eyes have been focused on Carrington and are starting to invest. His recruitment has been kept very close to the vest, but programs such as Pittsburgh, George Mason, George Washington, Rutgers, VCU and Temple are all recruiting the 6-foot-4 combo guard. He’ll take an unofficial visit to George Mason Oct. 8. After making an impression at the MADE Hoops High School Academy event, Carrington will look to raise his stock on a talented Panthers’ roster.
2022 Bryce Lindsay Bryce Lindsay 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2022 State MD set to take another official visit
Lindsay took his first official visit over the weekend to Oklahoma State and will get back on the road this weekend for an official visit with Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-3 sharpshooter is now enrolled at St. Frances after announcing his transfer from Bishop Walsh. He’ll bring crucial floor spacing and a primary ball-handling presence for head coach Nick Myles as they are set to take on a national schedule.
2023 Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD takes his first official visit this weekend
Lamothe has become one of the more highly-sought after recruits on the East Coast for his class. A plethora of schools reached out and offered the 6-foot-4 combo guard in mid-June. Lamothe is in Baton Rouge this weekend for his first official visit at LSU. The St. Frances junior will visit Ohio State Oct. 20, Xavier on Oct. 21 and continues to work on setting up visits with Maryland, Marquette and Illinois.

It looks like now Whitmore will decide between the Wildcats and Illinois and could announce his decision in the coming weeks on his mother’s birthday.
