The Prep Hoops Circuit was a massive success in its third season. It allowed prospects from the state of Illinois to compete against high level competition from around the country and play in front of college coaches while gaining tons of media exposure. Time for us to unveil our All-Class Teams for the state. To be eligible for these prospects must have played in a minimum of two PHC events. Here is the Prep Hoops Circuit: Class of 2023 All-Illinois Team!

1st Team

[player_tooltip player_id="1215287" first="Jake" last="Fiegen"] (Full Package)

Fiegen was the MVP from the 2023 class. The New Trier sharp shooter is about as elite as there is when it comes to shooting the basketball. NBA range and consistency on his shot over and over. He hits them off the catch, spotting up, flaring, and can create his own. More than just a shooter he is tough and has solid athleticism. Went from unranked to a D1 prospect over the summer with Full Package!

[player_tooltip player_id="1048307" first="Ahmad" last="Henderson"] (Young & Reckless)

Henderson is among the more fun players to watch in the 2023 class. I tend to not be a fan of smaller guards, but Henderson has that “it” factor you just can’t deny. Plenty of range on a good looking three point stroke. He isn’t afraid to take and make big shots either. Crisp passer with creativity with the rock in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="989268" first="DeAndre" last="Craig"] (South Cook Jaguars)

Craig played up on the 17U level with the Jaguars and it didn’t seem to faze him a bit. He got better and better as the spring and summer went along. The Mt. Carmel compact guard displayed excellent leadership and understanding of the game. Made plays off the bounce with his toughness at the rim while also getting his teammates involved.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048324" first="Daniel" last="Johnson"] (Meanstreets)

Loved what Johnson brought to the table at both events he played with Meanstreets on the PHC. He is the definition of a three and D wing. Plus shooter with a feathery touch from the outside. The lengthy wing has a free and easy stroke from the perimeter being able to knock down shots at a high clip along with defending the 2- 4 spots on the other end.

[player_tooltip player_id="989273" first="Grant" last="Fridley"] (Illinois Bears)

Fridley made everything roll for the Bears. The Trenton Wesclin guard is a pass first point guard that understands the game and how to elevate the play of those around him. Like how he runs the team and gets others involved. Slick handles and solid shooter.

2nd Team

[player_tooltip player_id="939068" first="Sam" last="Lewis"] (Meanstreets)

Lewis broke out as a legit D1 prospect with his strong play for Meanstreets. The OPRF two guard has a smooth shot and that was on full display all spring and summer. He had a couple games in Birmingham where he was unconscious from deep in front of college coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048306" first="Miles" last="Rubin"] (Meanstreets)

Explosive and wiry power forward that was effective at finishing around the hoop. So quick off the floor with the way he converts at the rim. High-level offensive rebounder that also brings a major shot blocking presence on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id="994687" first="Kaiden" last="Space"] (Young & Reckless)

Space continued to elevate his stock with a strong spring and summer for Y&R. He is a combo guard that can score from all over the floor. He finishes well around the hoop, but really improved as a three point threat throughout the circuit. Brings value by being able to play both on and off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048311" first="Tyler" last="Van Gorp"] (Hoops 4 Health)

TVG is a 2023 6’10” five man from New Trier that played up on the 17U level for Hoops 4 Health. Thin post that is a quality back to the basket player with his footwork and touch. Excellent shot blocker. Runs the floor well. Can stretch the floor on occasion.

[player_tooltip player_id="1148119" first="Jeremy" last="Harrington"] (Team Rose)

Harrington had a strong close to his sophomore campaign for Curie and carried that into the spring with Team Rose. Strong bodied post that finishes well through contact at the cup, boards with ferocity, and made major strides as a shot maker from three.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id="1215293" first="Mekhi" last="Doby"] (Team 815 North)

[player_tooltip player_id="939078" first="Bryce" last="Tillery"] (Illinois Hoopstars)

[player_tooltip player_id="939048" first="Keon" last="Alexander"] (lllinois Hoopstars)

[player_tooltip player_id="1215301" first="Camron" last="Williford"] (BC Elite)

[player_tooltip player_id="1215285" first="Matthew" last="Moore"] (Chicago Lockdown)

[player_tooltip player_id="1048328" first="Jackson" last="Niego"] (Chicago Lockdown)

[player_tooltip player_id="1170017" first="Arius" last="Alijosius"] (Breakaway)

Sherod Dent (Hoops 4 Health)

Justin Page (Team Rose)

Wes Rubin (Meanstreets)
