The Prep Hoops Michigan Top 250 is coming to Grand Rapids on October 3rd! This will be an incredible collection of talented prospects from all over the state, and even beyond that. In addition to seeing individual stars at the event, there are matchups that fans, coaches, and scouts would like to see as well. Let’s take a look at a few of those.

[player_tooltip player_id="983525" first="Mathew" last="Coffey"] (2022, PF, Mt. Clemens) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="1211129" first="Gabe" last="Newhof"] (2022, PF, Tri-Unity Christian)

This would be a great battle in the paint. These 2 post players have been getting some much deserved attention from college coaches as of late. Coffey’s game has expanded this summer while Newhof has been using his height and strength to be a weapon on the defensive end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="985657" first="Sonny" last="Wilson"] (2023, PG, UD Jesuit) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="987273" first="John" last="Blackwell"] (2023, CG, Brother Rice)

These are 2 of the most skilled perimeter players in the state. Both are top notch scorers that can both create buckets on their own as well as score within the flow of the offense. Let’s face it, this could be a great college matchup in a few years, so who wouldn’t want to see it right now?

Gio Lufty (2024, SG, Lutheran North) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="1223492" first="Brayden" last="White"] (2024, SG, Woodhaven)

These 2 guards are going to play big roles in high school basketball over the coming years. Both are plus shooters that must be accounted for at all times. Lufty and White can both keep the scoreboard moving and it’d be interesting to see how they would match up.

[player_tooltip player_id="1181896" first="Kareem" last="Rozier"] (2022, PG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s) vs. [player_tooltip player_id="863923" first="Chansey" last="Willis"] (2022, PG, Detroit King)

This would be a matchup between a couple of the top floor generals in the state of Michigan. Rozier and Willis are 2 of the hardest working facilitators you can find in this state. The feature of this matchup would be the elite on ball defense that each player brings to the table.
