We continue our Impact Transfers for North Florida with the class of 2023. Here are some guys that made moves in the offseason to help further their High School careers. I’d expect these guys to help make an immediate impact on their respective programs moving forward.

Demarcus Allen l 6’4 G l San Jose Prep
Arguably the top shocker move from the summer for the class of 2023. Allen led First Coast in scoring last season; Allen is an athletic guard that bullies his opponents. He is crafty around the rim. Allen could score north of 20 points per game next season. I like this move because pairing Allen with Arnel Curic will provide the Storm with a solid 1-2 tandem. Allen is more of your slashing type guard; Curic thrives more on the perimeter. Allen can knock down an occasional outside shot but is more effective getting to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1265087" first="Nate" last="Llaga"] l 5’10 G l St. Joseph’s Academy
Llaga makes his way from Bishop Snyder over to SJA. Consider this another underrated move as the fit is just right for both parties. SJA gets a seasoned, well-coached guard from another solid program. It allows the Flashes to move Sam Wolfe to more of the off-ball position. Llaga is a solid perimeter shooter. He gets the team involved; This lineup for the Flashes becomes one that should get more attention.

Jayden Butler l 5’11 G l Wolfson
Butler is a kid that is a coach’s dream. He runs the offense, communicates on both ends of the court, and gives 110% at all times. Butler comes in from Spain sporting a high IQ and a great overall feel for the game. You couldn’t tell that Butler sat out last year due to Covid-19; He looks in rhythm. You can see how he controls the pace of the game when he is in the game. The move is another solid fit for both sides. The Wolfpack struggled with veteran leadership and turnovers last year. I’d expect Butler to affect both of those categories positively.

[player_tooltip player_id="962501" first="Chavaris" last="Dumas"] l 6’0 G l Palatka
The acquisition of Dumas is an underrated transfer for Palatka. He comes over with varsity experience from Interlachen. Dumas displays patience, poise, and just an ability to score the basketball at the guard position. He has that grit that most programs look for in players. I like this acquisition for the Panthers as they will pair Dumas with [player_tooltip player_id="1065420" first="Jimmie" last="Williams"] in the backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id="1265095" first="Brycen" last="Rowland"] l 5’11 G l Yulee
Rowland moves from Fernandina Beach to rival Yulee. His perimeter shooting and pure skill will pay dividends for the Hornets. Rowland has a great work ethic and a high IQ. Rowland posted two 40+ games last year, so the ability to put the ball in the hoop is present. He will help the Hornets moving forward as they are in rebuild mode. The future looks bright in Yulee.
