The Prep Hoops Circuit concluded with the Grit Region Final. Here we examine the top performances from rising seniors we saw at the event. Check out Grit Region Final: Top 2022 Illinois Performers Pt 2!

[player_tooltip player_id="925208" first="Rashawn" last="Bost"] (Illinois Future)

Bost will be one of the go to scorers this season for Evanston. He is a plus perimeter shooter that can drain jumpers one a consistent basis. Clean and fluid mechanics. Mixes in drives on occasion, but his biggest value at the next level will be as a floor stretcher. High end small college prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048723" first="Nickolas" last="Robinson"] (Illinois Future)

Robinson is a long and rangy combo forward that can impact the game on both ends of the floor. Physical tools are intriguing as he showed in a 14 point effort where he lived off his athleticism. Small college or JUCO would be lucky to get him.

Gideon Adewale (Illinois Future)

Adewale is a plus athlete that gets to the rim and plays with a ton of energy. Gets quite a few of his points off how hard he plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="996059" first="Jeremiah" last="Talton"] (Quad City High School Prep)

Talton was one of the higher ranked prospects from Illinois’ 2022 class in the event. The first aspect that stands out about Talton is how much stronger he has got over the last year. Broad shouldered small forward that can really shoot it. He drained an array of feathery triples in the game we saw. Fluid and easy release off the catch spotting up. Potential to be a good defender if he locks in on that end. Low-majors should take a serious look.

[player_tooltip player_id="863605" first="Justin" last="King"] (Illinois Bears)

Top prospect from the Illinois Bears had a nice weekend in the two games we saw. Lengthy point guard that is silky smooth and when he is rolling makes it look very easy. Jump shot has improved splashing in several threes particularly effective from the top of the key. Slick handle allows him to get in the lane for finishes. Weaves in and out of the defense in the open floor doing a nice job of finishing around defenders in the paint. Low-major prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1106938" first="Saxton" last="Hoepker"] (Illinois Bears)

Like what this Nashville 6’6” power forward has done over the last couple months. He is the ideal small college post with the way he rebounds with a ton of toughness along with his switch ability defensively. Offensively he is efficient with his touches on the block and is an underrated athlete with some strength.

[player_tooltip player_id="1106927" first="Elliot" last="Lowndes"] (Illinois Bears)

Lowndes is a 6’11” big man that might not be the most second most productive of the Bears 17U prospects, but has the second highest ceiling. Long and lean five man that is a solid offensive rebounder and when he gets post touches showcases an emerging hook shot. Solid shot blocker. Upside play that D2s need to monitor.

[player_tooltip player_id="863639" first="Brady" last="Moore"] (Illinois Bears)

This Breese Central shooting guard is tough and rugged. He is productive because of how hard he plays and his ability to finish through taller defenders in the paint. Can hit an occasional open shot and is a solid defender. Will really help out a small college program at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="989278" first="Ty" last="Lenhardt"] (Illinois Bears)

Nice way to close out the summer for Lenhardt. He saved his best for last in a 17 point outing that helped lead his team to a win. When he shoots it like he did on Sunday from the perimeter it opens up so many avenues for him to be effective. Small colleges need to look into this southern Illinois guard.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048730" first="Jaydin" last="Dunlap"] (Champaign Heat)

Dunlap was one of the more consistent guard performers over the last month. The Bolingbrook point guard is a scrappy guard that wins off the bounce getting in the lane for scores in the paint. Was Champaign Heat’s leading scorer throughout the weekend. High end D3 and NAIA programs need to be on Dunlap.

[player_tooltip player_id="863629" first="Sam" last="Bradbury"] (Champaign Heat)

Bradbury is a big bodied five man that looks like an offensive tackle. He was a force on the defensive end during their game on Friday night. Like a brick wall when guards ran into him swatting shots and being an intimidating force. Plays with physicality on the offensive end garnering deep post position before the catch. Priority small college recruit!

[player_tooltip player_id="1210422" first="Deon" last="Bomar"] (Illinois Storm)

Hinsdale South smaller point guard is a pesky defender at the point of attack and excels having the ball in his hands in the open floor being able to use his speed getting to the rim. Small college lead guard.

Anthony Munson (Illinois Storm)

This Lockport 5’11” point guard opened up some eyes with his play over the weekend. Well built guard that shot it pretty well from three and was crafty with his handles off the bounce for some scores. D3 programs would be wise to monitor him.
