With the late July addition of [player_tooltip player_id="992497" first="Jaylen" last="Jones"], PSB-Nashville 16u made a loud statement...’We intend to win!’

"I think I have the top two players (in Tennessee)," said Head Coach Will Harris prior to their first game. "[player_tooltip player_id="992516" first="Isaiah" last="West"] is good, but ..."

Between [player_tooltip player_id="992497" first="Jaylen" last="Jones"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1241383" first="Eddie" last="Ricks III"] Coach Harris absolutely has two show-stopping scorers with high upside. Jaylen will spend the weekend starting for a balanced PSB-Nashville team, while Eddie spent the entire July torching defenders from outside the arc.

PSB Nashville 16u (68) vs. IBA Illinois Stars 16u (59)

[player_tooltip player_id="992497" first="Jaylen" last="Jones"], Camden Andrews, and [player_tooltip player_id="1241383" first="Eddie" last="Ricks III"] played sparkling games, in particular.

[player_tooltip player_id="992497" first="Jaylen" last="Jones"] delivered beautiful pass after beautiful pass. The electric guard expended almost no energy in pursuit of personal points. He did create constantly and provided his new team with creativity with the dribble.

Defensive Player of the Game

Trevon Roots, Illinois Stars 16u: Roots blocked something like 4 shots within the first quarter alone. PSB-Nashville took a long time to understand his quick leaping.

Player of the Game

[player_tooltip player_id="1241383" first="Eddie" last="Ricks III"], PSB-Nashville 16u: The wonderful agility of [player_tooltip player_id="1241383" first="Eddie" last="Ricks III"] certainly helped him. The height was a benefit on defense. Most of Ricks III did was simply shoot with a beautiful softness. Ricks III proved much too difficult to defend. Closing out with a fury didn’t work (Root fouled him as a shooter) and closing out casually didn’t work (Ricks III hit 3’s). Fouling him didn’t work (Ricks III made the free throws).
