With many players blowing up this past weekend here is a group of prospects that went unnoticed from the state of Illinois in Prep Hoops 2k21: Parham’s Sleepers!

JoeVonn McCottrey 2022 (Illinois Stars)

The shifty guard from Riverside Brookfield can beat you in many ways. JoeVonn scores from all three levels on offense and can be a very effective passer. He can wiggle in and out of bad situations on the court. McCottrey plays with a good energy the effects the team in positive ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="1105722" first="Troy" last="Glover"] 2022 (Y&R/ Authentic Basketball)

Glover had a phenomenal weekend in Indy. He was very instrumental on defense for Y&R Boateng. Troy swatted many shots against high level competition in what were very intense games.

Marcus Glover 2022 (Team Rose)

Thick bodied big man who is sent out to handle the load from other teams bigs. Marcus uses his strength, has really good hands, and uses a soft touch around the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id="863638" first="Keynan" last="Davis"] 2022 (Young & Reckless Brim)

Davis is a special glue guy who does whatever it takes to win the game. Keynan is solid spot up shooter that has made big shots in big games. He isn’t limited to the perimeter as he is also proficient at slashing to the cup when off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="771553" first="Lance" last="Rodgers"] 2022 (Work Foundation)

Lance was a work horse in the game we caught beating the opposition to rebounds with his length and aggressiveness. Rodgers scored off missed shots and is usually always in the right spot.

[player_tooltip player_id="1140351" first="Jonah" last="Hinton"] 2022 (M14 Hoops)

Skilled scoring guard who is very shifty. A great #2 scorer for M14. Hinton was effective in the mid-range and from three. Jonah can also be effective off ball screens and find teammates either slashing or in catch and shoot situations.

[player_tooltip player_id="1210373" first="Joseph" last="Fitch"] 2022 (Illini Magic)

Fitch is a long 6’8” big that shouldn’t be under the radar. He showed great timing on block shots and rebounding. Offensively he gets off his feet quick and even reads the ball off the rim well because he caught a few tip dunks.

Matas & [player_tooltip player_id="1215313" first="Rokas" last="Castillo"] 2023 (Full Package)

Easily one of my favorite twin combinations in the state of Illinois. They might look similar but games are different. Matas controls the game with his handle and determination to get to spots on the court. He can create for others or himself. Rokas is the heady guard who does a great job at spacing away from the ball and hitting shots when defenders lose him. Both guys play really hard and never back down from competition.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048314" first="Jordan" last="Brown"] 2023 (Young & Reckless)

Jordan doesn’t get as much ink as the other guards on this team but he is just as effective. Brown is an uber athletic player who is very active on both sides of the ball. Jordan gets downhill and scores in traffic by jumping around defenders while taking a bump. A solid shooter most colleges will become aware during the high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1048311" first="Tyler" last="Van Gorp"] 2023 (Hoops 4 Health)

Van Gorp is very long and lanky five man with tons of upside. This weekend he was effective on defense altering shots and protecting the rim. He swatted four shots in the short time I saw him. At 6’10” Tyler is a very intriguing player to monitor going into his junior year.
