Pangos Sweet 16: 17U Quantum Elite

<p>The Pangos Sweet 16 is alive and well. There was plenty of competition at the event. From Arizona, there were two teams. Quantum Elite played in the Platinum Division. Below are some of the prospects who played well in their 2nd round game against Rockfish Navy (Cali). Overall, they lost in the first round and finished the event 3-1.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="827037" first="Michael" last="Saba"] 6’8 PF 2022 Chaparral </strong></p> <p>Saba is well documented for his ability to hit mid-range jumpers as well as space the floor. Where he flourished this weekend was his finishing ability around the rim. He has terrific footwork and patience. In addition to being able to create shots for himself, he has a soft touch around the rim and is able to finish those shots with either hand.</p> <p>Defensively, he rotated well and primarily guarded 4s and 5s. Further, he led the team in rebounding and competed on the glass.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1033116" first="Michael" last="Rafko"] 6’5 SF 2022 Chaparral</strong></p> <p>Rafko has good size, height and strength. He is not rushed on the floor and played with a lot of toughness and energy. He was picking up opposing guards full court and able to harass them despite his size. </p> <p>Offensively, he took the right shots and was a more than capable passer. Between Rafko and Saba, Chaparral should be very excited for this upcoming season.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814527" first="Leonard" last="Romayor"] 5’9 PG 2023 Ironwood</strong></p> <p>Romayor was in control of the tempo of the game and demonstrated an ability to touch paint. He is explosive vertically and laterally. This allowed him to pick up full court as well as to beat his defender off of the dribble. Further, despite his size, he was able to finish at the rim with ease. Romayor is extremely skilled and athletic.</p> <p><strong>Jayden Crawford 6’0 PG/SG 2023 Ironwood</strong></p> <p>Romayor and Crawford largely shared the back court. Crawford did a great job of changing pace which allowed him to freeze defenders and beat them off of the dribble. Further, he demonstrated an ability to draw help side and kick as well as hit open 3s.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
