This is the smallest conference in the state due to the isolated nature of their location, traveling difficulties in the winter, and small athletic budgets for winter sports and the schools as a whole. With that in mind, the 1A DII North Star Conference only put together an ALl-Conference first team while almost all other conferences have at least a second team and an honorable mention team as well. Continue reading for a look at some of the best players from the 1A DII North Star All-Conference team during this past season.
Cameron Garcia, Clark Fork: Garcia had an excellent senior season and helped Clark Fork earn a state bid thanks to his high level of play. Garcia can score at all three levels and is especially deadly when he drives to the rim to finish through contact. Cameron plays a physical brand of basketball and is not afraid to bang in the post or attempt to go through defenders in order to snag an opportunity for an offensive rebound. Garcia plays hard each possession and does a great job of helping his teammates in anyway possible.
Luke Trogden Luke Trogden 5'11" | PG Mullan | 2022 State ID , Mullan: Trogden had a solid junior season for Mullan and will look to help his team take over the conference during the upcoming season. Luke is a quick guard who does a little bit of everything for Mullan. He can knock down any shot from outside and is not afraid to take a jumper from way downtown. Luke also has great patience in the paint on his drives and uses a variety of fakes and pivots to find crafty ways to finish at the hoop. On defense, Luke is a lockdown defender who plays hard every single possession.
Chris Wade, Clark Fork: Wade held down the middle for the Wampus Cats last season at 6’5″. Chris used his height advantage over smaller defenders to allow him to finish at the rim if he didn’t grab his own offensive rebound from a miss. Wade has a great feeling for the game overall and can also stretch to the three-point line in order to make him a more difficult cover as well. Wade made a big impact on the Clark Fork squad this past season.
