The Shore Conference has enjoyed a strong run of success over the past couple of seasons with Ranney winning the 2019 Tournament of Champions and Manasquan accumulating a 53-1 record over the past two seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"] has been named an All-State performer in those years, making First Team All-State in 2021. The Warriors have to replace the production of Jack Collins and [player_tooltip player_id="929516" first="Connor" last="Walsh"], but [player_tooltip player_id="1141965" first="Andrew" last="Solomon"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1213557" first="Ryan" last="Frauenheim"] are breakout contenders.

Ranney had a team ready to contend for a Shore Conference title, but will have to replace [player_tooltip player_id="901941" first="Elijah" last="Perkins"] in the backcourt. The 6’4 guard transferred to Camden in the offseason and was the leader of the team over the past two seasons. [player_tooltip player_id="902736" first="Isaac" last="Hester"] led the Panthers in scoring in his first season and will assume more of a leadership role in 2022.

[player_tooltip player_id="901973" first="Brandon" last="Klatsky"] will have to step up as both a scorer and a leader as he is the only player left on the roster to receive game-time in Ranney’s TOC run. The 6’3 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Klatsky will have to become a more assertive ball-handler to provide the Panthers with another player to bring the ball up.

[player_tooltip player_id="901965" first="Charles" last="Anyichie"] will be the go-to big man with the departures of [player_tooltip player_id="900298" first="Kyle" last="Rhoden"] and [player_tooltip player_id="901964" first="Ryan" last="Zan"]. The athletic 6’7 forward does not take a play off at either end and uses his length to altar shots. Zan’s move to Hun means Anyichie will have to become a more confident scorer on the interior.

Lacey had the potential to be a dark horse team in the Shore Conference, but the Lions will have to replace big man Carson Howard, who transferred to Archbishop Wood in Pennsylvania. [player_tooltip player_id="902747" first="Chris" last="Venturoso"] had a strong debut season as he averaged 13 points per game, but will have to increase his scoring output. Troy Buxton was a reliable third scorer for the Lions and should receive more touches on the offensive end with Howard’s departure.

Manchester Township and Marlboro stand the most to gain as both teams return the majority of their squads from last season. [player_tooltip player_id="1013047" first="Savon" last="Myers"] is one of the Shore’s better kept secrets and has the potential for a monster senior season. The 6’5 forward is a good passer and athletic enough to defend almost every position on the floor.

D’Maari Brown returns to run the show for the Hawks and has good chemistry with Myers. [player_tooltip player_id="901948" first="Wyatt" last="Hasselbauer"] is a load down load, but will need to improve his scoring to take Manchester over the top. The Hawks have a strong squad capable of making a deep run in the postseason.

The Mustangs were seconds away from taking home a title in each of the last two seasons and they will be hungry in 2022. [player_tooltip player_id="931028" first="Jack" last="Seidler"] leads the scoring charge along with Jon Spatola, creating the best 1-2 punch in the Shore Conference this season. Both players play their best when the lights shine brightest, making Marlboro one of the favorites to take home the Shore Conference Tournament title.

The Shore Conference basketball season is always filled with excitement and this year should be no different with the amount of talent in the league.
