Coach Dell’s Open Runs have become must see and must be at events. Last night was a perfect example of that. There was some very high level basketball being played in Saginaw on Wednesday evening, including college players to rising underclassmen. We’ll take a look at 5 stars of the night.

* Players are listed in alphabetical order.

[player_tooltip player_id="1067870" first="Jonah" last="Botardo"] (2022, PG, Troy Athens)

Botardo may be a smaller player, but he has a big time game. He heated up from beyond the arc and was a game changer with the shot when he did. Botardo showed some impressive start-stop speed with a hesitation move with a floater for a finish.

[player_tooltip player_id="986253" first="Mike" last="Lividini"] (2023, PG, Southfield Christian)

Lividni was really impressive and made a big statement at Coach Dell’s Open Run. He was torching the nets for most of the night, hitting at least 5 three pointers (probably more, those are just the ones that I saw) on the night. Lividni was an asset on both ends, playing disciplined defense and always communicating with his teammates on that end.

[player_tooltip player_id="983529" first="Markel" last="Martin"] (2022, SG, Saginaw Arthur Hill)

Martin was a clear cut asset when he was on the floor. He could go either way off the dribble and create. Martin cleared space off the bounce and made things happen from there. He showed the ability to score from multiple levels at the open run.

[player_tooltip player_id="1140325" first="Mason" last="Struck"] (2024, PF, Chesaning)

Struck is a young player that’s full of potential. He does a great job finishing around the rim. Struck rebounds the ball high and keeps it there. He does a really nice job putting the defender on his shoulder, keeping them at bay with his off arm, and finishing over top and around them quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id="986889" first="Teddy" last="Williams"] (2023, PF, Grand Ledge)

This young man just keeps evolving as a basketball player. The firs thing that I noticed was how much stronger he’s gotten. Williams isn’t tall and skinny, but tall and strong. He was able to establish position under the rim and finish over both shoulders.

* On a sidenote, there were some really impressive former high school players in attendance. [player_tooltip player_id="789756" first="Jacob" last="Tomsich"] was flat out terrific. He always had a reputation as a shooter, but his game has exploded. He’s now a college player and a tough finisher with moves off the bounce. [player_tooltip player_id="796079" first="Sir’Real" last="Smith"] was in attendance as well. He’s still a different level athlete than most and is still available if any JUCOS want to take a look. Nehemia Jones was in attendance, and he had top not strength and physicality. He defended the length of the floor and was a powerful finisher.
