2024 Rankings Update
In this article:
The 2024 updated rankings are officially here as June has hit the midway point. The new rankings are now up to 88 players with nearly 15 prospects being added to the list. The update has not changed the order at the top as Bergen Catholic’s Elliot Cadeau Elliot Cadeau 6'2" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2024 MO retains the top spot.
The 6’2 guard has been playing up for the New Heights Lightning 17U team and had a strong showing at the Pango’s All-American Camp. Cadeau has a tight handle, which he uses to get into the lane and finish around the rim. He is a smooth passer and has a bright future ahead of them.
Naasir Cunningham Naasir Cunningham 6'7" | SF Southern California Academy | 2024 #41 Nation CA-S retains the second spot in the rankings and is an intriguing prospect to watch in the 2024 class. The lanky 6’7 wing can score at all three levels and uses his size to get his shot off over smaller defenders. Cunningham has been playing well for the NY Rens so far this spring and the trend should continue as the summer rolls on.
Cadeau’s New Heights Lightning teammates Tarik Watson Tarik Watson 6'7" | PF Hillcrest Prep | 2024 State AZ and Tahaad Pettiford Tahaad Pettiford 6'1" | PG Hudson Catholic | 2024 State #27 Nation NJ remain in the top five. The former has a strong frame which he uses to finish around the basket, but can also knock down jumpers from behind the arc. Watson is a versatile forward prospect who should continue to make a name for him.
Pettiford is one of the top shooters in the state with a pure shooting stroke, quick release and range that starts once he steps over half court. The lefty guard plays with extreme confidence as he is unafraid of going up against bigger opponents or pulling up for triples in transition. Pettiford is a threat every time he steps on the floor with his ability to stretch the floor, but his defense and handle will separate himself from his peers.
James Moore James Moore 6'9" | PF Olympus Prep | 2024 State #237 Nation NJ moves up to the fourth spot in the rankings and is a prospect to keep an eye on for the next couple of years. The 6’9 combo forward is comfortable playing on the perimeter as he can put the ball on the floor and knock down shots from behind the arc. Moore is also a strong rebounder and shot-blocker, making him one of the most interesting prospects in the 2024 class.
Savod Godwin Savod Godwin 6'5" | SF Arts | 2024 State NJ is the highest ranked newcomer on the list as he checks in at number 15. The 6’5 wing is at his best attacking the basket where he is a good finisher around the basket and does not mind drawing contact. Godwin is also a good defender as his combination of size, length and athleticism allows for him to defend multiple positions.
Tristen Guillotte had the biggest jump in the rankings as he went up 22 spots in the update. The 6’8 post player has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to get position down low. Guillotte picked up an offer from St. Francis(NY) in May and it should be the first of more to come as he works on his shooting range.
The 2024 rankings update is finally here as the rising sophomore class looks forward to their first live period.
