Godwin is the utility man for his team playing with lots of physicality and doing all of the non flashy things that may not show up in the box score. He can guard every position and is not afraid to go against taller players as he looks to strip the ball from them whenever he can. When he gets inside the paint he will use his effective pump fakes before going straight up and even if he misses he will more likely than not get the ball back for a second or third attempt. Godwin will sacrifice his body on the floor to dive after every loose ball he can and plays elite perimeter defense.

Godwin plays like a center in a small forward body because of his dominant presence down low. Since Godwin is already a great defender he can block shots and be the first one to score in transition. He can rise and dunk over anyone and will look to put a body on a defender when driving into the paint. He can finish strong with both hands and will look to go to a bag of moves to create space around a defender.

Standing at 6’5″ Godwin is a defensive machine for his team. He can switch onto anyone on the perimeter while he uses his quick hands to try and poke the ball free. Godwin has great recovery time when he gets beat off the dribble as he won’t give up and will block your shot from behind. He will press full court the whole game without ever needing a break. Godwin is excellent at transition defense too slowing down breaks and forcing teams to reset on offense.

Godwin is the type of player that every coach would love to have on their team. His playstyle is all about hustle and intensity when looking to make an impact on the game. Godwin crashes the glass at a very high rate and seems to always fill up the box score getting doubles-doubles almost every game while getting multiple blocks and steals per game. No one is questioning his game on the defensive side of the ball. On the offensive side, he scores mostly in the paint/post area with crafty moves around the rim. If Godwin can develop a consistent three-point shot he will almost certainly have an even better season in his senior year.
