2023 Rankings Breakdown: DC Area Newcomers

<p>Prep Hoops Maryland recently updated its class of <a href="https://prephoops.com/maryland/rankings/2023-rankings/"><strong>2023 prospect rankings</strong></a>, and now it's time to take a closer look. Here is a rundown of some of the newcomers featured in this recent update.</p> <p><strong>#20 | [player_tooltip player_id="1219862" first="Marcus" last="Banks"] | Riverdale Baptist</strong></p> <p>Banks is one of the best-kept secrets in his class. He can fit into multiple lineups because of his ability to guard multiple positions or play on and off the ball offensively. Banks plays with good effort and toughness. He makes winning plays and can score at all three levels. </p> <p><strong>#32 | [player_tooltip player_id="957049" first="Jaden" last="French"] | National Christian</strong></p> <p>French is one of the more improved prospects we've seen since the pandemic. His defense has always been the foundation of his game. But his offensive skill set has developed significantly. French has become a confident ball handler under pressure. He demonstrates good court vision and a quick first step that helps him get downhill with regularity.</p> <p><strong>#36 | [player_tooltip player_id="1219874" first="Sebastian" last="Dokum"] | Good Counsel</strong></p> <p>Dokum is a towering paint enforcer who looks the part. But he makes a substantial difference because of his physicality and aggression on the boards. Dokum's arrival gives Good Counsel a luxury that many teams in this area don't have.</p> <p><strong>#46 | [player_tooltip player_id="1219877" first="Jase" last="Mosley"] | Riverdale Baptist</strong></p> <p>Mosley was one of the better finds of the first live period. He double-doubled in Riverdale's win over Landon. Mosley has a solid base skill set to work with and is still scratching the surface. </p> <p><strong style="font-size: 1rem;">#47 | [player_tooltip player_id="1219878" first="Kayden" last="Tuffour"] | Good Counsel</strong></p> <p>Tuffour has a chance to be one of the better defensive prospects in this class. His combination of athleticism and physical tools are unique.</p> <p><strong>#54 | [player_tooltip player_id="1219879" first="Tyler" last="Perkins"] | Landon</strong></p> <p>Perkins helped his stock significantly at DMV Live. He is a lefty who shot the cover off the ball at DeMatha. Perkins also plays hard. He recorded a couple of impressive chase-down blocks.</p>
