The state has shown off a lot of guards that have the ability to put points on the scoreboard. Let’s take a third look at some of the Michigan guards getting buckets at Prep Hoops Circuit events.
Cameron Brilliantes (2022, SG, DV45 2022, Okemos)
Brilliantes was really strong in Grand Rapids in the Prep Hoops Circuit. He’s a speedy shooter that can bury a triple even with a hand in his face. If Brilliantes gets hot, DV45 is especially tough to beat.
Brian Everhart (2024, SG, Michigan Goonies 15u, Cardinal Mooney)
Everhart has let his game do the talking in the early part of the grassroots season. He’s a scorer at heart with excellent shot selection that turns into a high efficiency shot taker and shot maker.
Jeremiah Jones (2024, SG, B3 Athletics 2024, Grand Rapids Christian)
B3 Athletics has a lot of impressive perimeter athletes and Jones is another in that line. He’s a multi level scorer with strong body control and a dangerous jumper.
Ethan Layton (2024, PG, LevelUp 2024, Dundee)
Dundee fans and coaches have a lot to be excited about. Layton does a good job finding his spot on offense and getting to it. He works off screens well and moves without the ball.
Jakhary Towns Jakhary Towns 6'1" | SG Godwin Heights | 2023 State MI (2023, SG, Team Rose, Godwin Heights)
Towns is, in my opinion, one of the top players in the Michigan class of 2023. He’s always had a dangerous mid range game, but he’s now shooting at a higher percentage from behind the arc and finishing at the rim. Towns is a really high upside prospect.
Deahveon Whaley (2024, CG, Tri-County Cobras 2024, Waterford Mott)
Whaley was impressive in the open floor. He was fast and fluid and looked like a constant threat in a fast paced game.
