The Pangos AA Camp held its Spring Showcase on May 22nd and May 23rd at the Tarkanian Academy. While the event featured many talented players, undoubtedly the best part about it was the fact that it was being held in Las Vegas! After almost a year of no major basketball events, the showcase provided an opportunity for local products to display their talents. In this article, we take a look at some local standouts from the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="986959" first="Ryder" last="Elisaldez"] 6’1 CG Bishop Gorman 2024 (#4PHN 2024) - Perhaps Elisaldez’s best skill is his willingness to compete. That says a lot considering he is a big-time R&J athlete, with playmaking ability. One of the top combos at the camp, he created for teammates, created turnovers, and got out and finished in the open court.

[player_tooltip player_id="859644" first="Dontrell" last="Johnson"] 6’5 SF Bonanza (#PHN8 2022) - Johnson is a definte stock up player. I’m a big fan of athletic high motor guys, Johnson has consistently shown that he is that. This weekend he added in a lethal offensive game. He made 3’s in both catch and shoot and off the bounce. He was one of the top grab-and-go guys at the event, routinely snatching defensive boards and going coast to coast. Poised to be one of the breakout players of the live period.

[player_tooltip player_id="1110135" first="Kiree" last="Huie"] 6’9 PF Desert Valley Prep (#15PHN 2021) - The lefty post was one of the top in traffic rebounders at the event. Huie used a powerful frame and good hands to clean the glass. He also stretched the floor and his game out past the 3 point line. He was able to make open 3’s as a floor spacer and handled well both advancing the ball and in iso situations.

[player_tooltip player_id="856637" first="Sebastian" last="Mack"] 6’1 CG Durango 2023 (#1PHN 2023) - The #1 ranked player in our class of 2023, Mack displayed his electrifying scoring skills. He doesn’t get enough credit for his ability to finish around the rim. Make put his entire layup package on display this weekend. finishing over, under, and around players at the event. A knock-down shooter, with effortless scoring ability, Mack is one of the top offensive players in the West Region.

[player_tooltip player_id="858152" first="Jaycob" last="McBath"] 6’0 PG Desert Valley Prep (#9PHN 2022) (featured image) - In my original notes, I had a question mark around McBath’s wiggle. That mark was quickly erased. The PG showed the ability to be shifty and explosive when getting to the rim. Had one of the best COD’s of the camp, using sharp left to right crossovers, to get by defenders.
