We are taking a look at the best players in Fargo from all 5 high schools. The city is full of talented and athletic basketball players. Many of these guys are playing AAU outside of the high school season. All of them should come into the season improved and stronger. On paper, Fargo Davies and Fargo North should be towards the top of the EDC. Shanley could be a dark horse. Fargo South graduated a majority of their scoring from this past season, so the book is not out yet on the Bruins yet. Fargo Oak Grove plays in Class B Region-1. The Grovers will be a solid team and in the top-tier of their Region.

Fargo's Finest basketball players:

Davies

[player_tooltip player_id="1161486" first="Alex" last="Proctor"] (2022) |6-1 G| Fargo Davies/ECI - He is very athletic. Alex will be excellent for Davies in transition and in the up-tempo game. He can score quickly, and he can put on a show with athletic finishes. Proctor has the ability to be a tough defender. He can create his own shot. Alex also has the potential to be a solid rebounder in the EDC.

[player_tooltip player_id="1161524" first="Daniel" last="Yorke"] (2024) |6-0 G| Fargo Davies/ECI - He is another athletic guard for the Eagles. They will compete against amazing competition every day in practice. Yorke is electric and fun to watch in transition. When he gets going downhill, lookout! Yorke has a great vertical and solid finishing ability. It will be interesting to see where he fits in with this deep Davies team. He will have a role, Yorke is very talented.

[player_tooltip player_id="812229" first="Ian" last="Motschenbacher"] (2022) |6-0 G| Fargo Davies/ECI - His footwork is amazingly good! Ian is a gym rat that is always improving. His toughness is second to no one. Ian has the ability to take over games. He will be one of the best in all of ND next season. Motschenbacher is a First Team All-State type talent.

[player_tooltip player_id="1169136" first="Mason" last="Klabo"] (2025) |5-10 G| Fargo Davies/Team Tyus - He is a youngster, but he is mature beyond his years. Mason can fill it up from downtown. He has big-time shot-making ability. Klabo can also handle the rock and dish it. His finishing ability has been impressive. As he grows and improves his strength he could be a lockdown defender.

[player_tooltip player_id="1167651" first="Max" last="Froslie"] (2023) |6-7 F| Fargo Davies/ECI - His size, length, and long arms will be an important piece of the puzzle for Davies next season. The Eagles are guard-heavy, and they need a player like Max. He will provide solid post defense, rim protection, and rebounding. Froslie can score at a good clip as well. He has a nice-looking jump-shot, and he can finish efficiently at the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050247" first="Raymond" last="Brown"] (2023) |5-10 G| Fargo Davies/ECI - He is a speedy guard that is ultra-quick. Brown has been shooting it well from 3-point land in AAU play. He is a pesky and problematic defender. I like his handles and passing ability. Raymond is not afraid to dive on the floor or take a charge. I expect him to be an All-Conference player in 2021-2022.

North

[player_tooltip player_id="1144600" first="Carter" last="Zeller"] (2024) |6-5 F| Fargo North/ECI - A physical specimen that was impressive this year. I can not imagine what he will be like next season. Carter will have 1 year of EDC play under his belt and an AAU season with ECI. His aggressiveness and physical ability will serve him well. Zeller will be one of the elite low-post players in the East in 2021-2022.

[player_tooltip player_id="1046363" first="Jalen" last="May"] (2022) |6-3 F| Fargo North/ECI - He is a versatile and flexible baller. May can hit the 3-ball in rhythm. He can also bang inside and play physically. Jalen has tight handles with good eyes for passing. He is a mismatch problem for most teams. Smaller guards can not handle him down low. Bigger post players can not move and keep track of him on the perimeter. May is also a legitimate rebounder, especially so on the offensive side.

[player_tooltip player_id="1144475" first="Jeremiah" last="Sem"] (2024) |6-1 G| Fargo North/ECI - If he keeps working hard and he continues to develop, Jeremiah will be a Division-1 basketball player. Physically he is very gifted. Sem moves, runs, and jumps at a different level than everyone else. He has a nice stroke when shooting from the outside. On defense, he is a difference-maker because of his shot-blocking and pass distrupting. North will go as far as Sem can take them next year. Expect another State Tournament appearance for the Spartans.

[player_tooltip player_id="812228" first="Luke" last="Loberg"] (2022) |6-4 F| Fargo North - He is another versatile player for the Spartans. Loberg can play outside and drill triples or he can be a scrapper inside. Luke had multiple games last year where he put up double-digit numbers in rebounding and scoring. Loberg will be surrounded by talent next season, because of this, he will see single coverage. Luke will have an outstanding year in the EDC taking care of business from all over the court.

Oak Grove

[player_tooltip player_id="1133068" first="Cody" last="Card"] (2022) |5-11 G| Oak Grove - He does all the little things that coaches dream of. He dives on the floor, takes charges, sacrifices his body, hustles non-stop, communicates, and he leaves it all on the floor. His effort says it all! Cody will have a solid senior year. With two 3-point shooters graduating and their big-man, Card will be asked to shoulder more of a scoring load this year. He is a physical guard that can get into the lane and make plays happen. Look for him to be a capable shooter from the arc next year as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="1133069" first="Trevon" last="Rodriguez"] (2022) |5-11 G| Oak Grove - He will be one of the top 2 guards in Region-1 next year. Trevon is a great athlete that handles the rock with stability. He is a quick guard that plays swiftly. Expect his scoring numbers to jump up next year. Coach Card will need him to fill it up. Trevon is also is a top-tier defender. His on-ball defense is spot-on and he anticipates well when off the ball.

Shanley

[player_tooltip player_id="1135486" first="Anthony" last="Wanner"] (2022) |6-10 F| Fargo Shanley - He did not get much burn last year on varsity. However, his 6’10" (possibly taller) size and crazy-long wingspan are intriguing. If you add in Wanner next to the freaky athletic [player_tooltip player_id="1128188" first="Conner" last="Kraft"] and the Deacons will have twin towers. Wanner is tough with his back to the basket and he has a nice baby hook shot. There is nothing but upside for Anthony.

[player_tooltip player_id="1128188" first="Conner" last="Kraft"] (2023) |6-6 F| Fargo Shanley/Howard Pulley - He is probably the best forward in the FM and surrounding area, let alone the city of Fargo. Conner was good last year for the Deacons, this coming year I expect him to be great. I believe he has the potential to be a First Team All-State type of player. Kraft is extremely explosive and his arms go on for days. He is an excellent rebounder and a rim protector. It looks like the big man has been improving his outside shot as well. Look out EDC!

[player_tooltip player_id="1123122" first="Tyler" last="Kraft"] (2022) |6-3 G| Fargo Shanley/Next Level Academy - I expect him to come into his senior season with a chip on his shoulder. Tyler has very solid fundamentals. He has a very nice jump shot with good elevation. Kraft is a crafty individual with nifty footwork and smooth finishes. I see him as an underrated guard going into next year. With a handful of seniors leaving the team, I predict Tyler will boost his scoring by a large margin.

South

[player_tooltip player_id="1164090" first="Arrison" last="Throntveit"] (2024) |6-1 G| Fargo South/ECI – I could see this sophomore playing a role for the Bruins this coming season. Arrison is athletic and he is good in transition. He has stood out for ECI this spring on the defensive side of the ball. Throntveit looks to be a very good rebounder for a guard. He finishes well around the rim. The Bruins coaching staff should be excited about this youngster.

[player_tooltip player_id="1135490" first="Zunekia" last="McGill"] (2022) |6-1 G| Fargo South - "Diamond" is an athletic wing that goes hard all game. He is a long 6’1" guard. He excels at getting into the paint with two feet. McGill is a versatile and opportunistic scorer. Fargo South graduated most of their scoring. McGill should have the green light to put up points for the Bruins
