Which guards impressed this past weekend at Battle at the Lakes? Prep Hoops lists seven guards that separated themselves from the rest of the pack:

[player_tooltip player_id="796949" first="Ryan" last="Warren"] -- E1T1 Premier -- SG

Warren was terrific for E1T1 Premier at Battle at the Lakes. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard is an aggressive slasher that is very tough to slow down when he gets to the rim. Using his size and athletic ability, Warren was able to find creative ways to finish layups. The shooting guard also proved that he can knock down outside jumpers. Overall, I was super impressed by the scoring game of Warren.

Drake Gomez -- E1T1 Premier -- SG

Gomez made a name for himself this weekend. The shooting guard has a sweet stroke from anywhere past half-court. Gomez had multiple big-time scoring games. Making outside jumpers put a lot of pressure on the opposing squad’s defense. No doubt, Gomez was one of the best shooters in the gym.

Jahiem Curry -- NBS 5 Star -- PG

Standing at 6-foot-4, Curry is a long, athletic point guard that plays really well on both sides of the court. On defense, he uses his length to block shots and protect the paint. On offense, he is a smooth operator that has no trouble getting to the rim with one quick move.

[player_tooltip player_id="964485" first="Jamari" last="Smith"] -- Iowa Mavs Grey -- SG

Smith has a deep bag of tools on offense. The Iowa Mavs shooting guard is an efficient prospect that never takes a bad shot. Smith is able to get to his spots and score points at all three levels with ease. On Sunday, the SG also proved that he has some bounce, as he threw down some impressive dunks. A 2021 prospect, Smith is a player that college programs need to keep an eye on.

Jordan Schumann -- Minnesota Comets -- SG

In a huge win for the Minnesota Comets, Schumann scored 17 points on four made three-point shots. At 6-foot-4, the shooting guard has really good size for his position. He can use his frame to shoot over smaller defenders and finish tough layups at the rim. Schumann has all of the tools necessary to find success at the college level.

[player_tooltip player_id="996074" first="DJ" last="Starr"] -- Illinois HoopStars -- PG

Starr was one of the more gifted scorers that I saw this weekend. The HoopStars point guard made six threes in one game on Saturday afternoon. In the same game, I thought that Starr did a really great job of pushing the pace in transition and creating opportunities for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id="784989" first="Nick" last="Bryant"] -- Iowa Mavs Grey -- SG

Playing for one of the better teams this weekend in the Iowa Mavs, Bryant capped off the weekend in impressive fashion. He scored 17 points on six made field goals. I really liked how Bryant was able to make shots from everywhere on the court. At 5-foot-9, Bryant may be a bit undersized. However, what he lacks in height he makes up for in pure scoring ability.
